Has anyone recently submitted stage 2 application while waiting for stage 1 endorsement?
My visa is running out and I need to put in an application for stage 2 to extend my legal stay. Please I need so clarification on the stage 2 application form.

Alright, thank you this helps

Hi Promisekeh, did you complete your biometrics for stage 2 while waiting for the decision on your endorsement for stage 1? If you did, what documents did you submit? If you haven’t and are waiting for stage 1 decision before booking your biometrics, can we still wait to complete our biometrics even if your visa runs out?

I believe we are automatically eligible to stay even if our current visa has ran out and even if we haven’t completed our biometrics as long as we submit the application for stage 2 and pay the NHS fee. Is that correct?

Could you please help answering my questions to Promisekeh? I could see that you completed your stage 2 biometrics after getting stage 1 endorsed, but could we do it before getting endorsed?

I have not done biometrics yet, waiting for the stage 1 decision. I have booked it for next week, though.

If you submit Stage 2, your deadline is automatically paused/extended till the final decicision is made by Home Office on your new visa application. I only got biometrics done once I got endorsement email. However my Stage 2 application was submitted before endorsement outcome as I was in similar boat with time running out on previous visa.

@Promisekeh Will you reschedule your biometrics if you don’t receive a decision by next week, or will you proceed as currently scheduled? Will your current visa run out before completing your biometrics?

@suyash Thank you. I’ve already applied for Stage 2, but I haven’t done my biometrics yet because my current visa is about to expire. I was worried about whether I should do the biometrics before my current visa expires. However, I believe you said that once we submit the Stage 2 application, the deadline is extended until the final decision regardless of whether the biometrics have been completed. So I can wait for the Stage 1 decision and then do it. However, biometrics also has its own deadline so I was wondering if doing the biometrics before getting the stage 1 decision is okay or what’s the pros and cons. Maybe if I complete the biometrics now, and stage 1 is rejected, I would not have a chance to appeal and stage 2 is auto rejected, which means I have to apply again? I’m not so sure and it is a bit of a concern.

I will most likely reschedule. My submission for stage 2 automatically extends my current visa till decision on my application is made.

My deadline for biometrics is sometime in March. It’s still a long time away. I don’t think there are cons with doing the biometrics before or after. The biometrics is free unless you are going for the assisted/priority service.

Thank you, that makes sense

Suggest emaling Home Office and calling thier support number and double checking with them @Bu_Mo
