Hi everyone,
I’m currently preparing for the Global Talent Visa (Digital Technology route) and would love some honest guidance from those who’ve been through the process especially anyone with a business analyst or digital transformation background.
Quick Summary
- MSc in Business Analytics (UK university)
- IT Business Analyst currently working in Scotland, leading digital transformation in the social care sector.
- Oversee rollout of Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) across several services.
- Develop and deliver training for senior managers and staff on using M365 effectively.
- Currently completing a Microsoft Fundamentals certification, planning to add another related to Business Analysis
- Exploring volunteering opportunities to train youth on digital optimisation and tech skills.
Evidence Prepared So Far (Based on GOV.UK Criteria)
Mandatory Criterion
- Leadership in organisation-wide digital transformation, documented through IT policies, meeting minutes, and system strategy drafts.
- Proof of leading SharePoint migration and digital training delivery across multiple services.
Optional Criterion 1 (Innovation)
- Case study showing how my SharePoint migration structure and process design improved collaboration and efficiency.
- Documentation of developing the IT Hub, a new digital knowledge portal created from scratch.
- Workflow automation evidence (e.g., Microsoft Forms → reports → IT use).
Optional Criterion 2 (Community / Knowledge Sharing)
- Internal Microsoft 365 training slides, screenshots, staff feedback, and confirmation letters.
- Volunteering confirmation letter (Council – digital literacy).
- Microsoft certification and mentoring documentation.
What I’d Love to Learn From You
- For those who were endorsed as Business Analysts, IT specialists, or digital transformation leads, how did you structure your 10 pieces of evidence to clearly show innovation and leadership?
- Did you include training and system rollout projects as part of your “innovation” or “community contribution” evidence?
- Since I’m not publishing or posting on LinkedIn, what other practical ways can I demonstrate external recognition or industry contribution?
- How important were certifications(e.g., Microsoft or BCS) in strengthening your endorsement?
- For applicants under Exceptional Promise, what kind of impact level did Tech Nation (or its successor) expect from internal organisational projects versus public-facing achievements?
Current Goal
I aim to finalise my endorsement evidence before April 2026, so any insights on how to structure the final application, evidence file format would be really helpful.
