Please Help review: My Chances of GTV for (exceptional)

Hello friends,

  • I am Sr. Software Engineer who is having 8 years of experience in (Test Automation, Data & Cloud Engineering) and currently living outside the U.K

Need your support and advice on the following docs:

  • LOR 1 (CTO of a Tech Startup): A friend, Senior and colleague who I know for almost 10 years
  • LOR 2 (Lead Test Automation Engineer) - A Sr. Colleague whom I have been working with for the past two years
  • LOR 3 (Lead Data Scientist) - A Sr. Former Colleague whom for over a year in the past organization

Mandatory Criteria: As described by Tech Nation

MC1: Led growth of a product-led digital technology company, product, or team

  • My Evidence: 3 snapshots of references received on LinkedIn profile from former and current Colleagues Highlighting the impact of my work

MC2: Spoke at high-profile digital technology events:

  • My Evidence: Snapshot of me speaking at the event - Highlighting the Audience Size, My Contribution, Event Details at a former organization

MC3: Published material in professional or major trade publications

  • Attaching Snapshots of three medium articles written in past along with their links

MC4: Commanded high salary or remuneration

  • My Evidence: Attaching Snapshot of Salary Slips from Past and Current employer and drawing a comparison with glassdoor salaries highlighting how it is more in comparison with other employers compared in my region

Optional Criteria as described by Tech Nation Visa Guide - Tech Nation

OC1.5: Employment contract with salary, earnings history bonus & equity

  • My Evidence: Attaching Snapshot of current employment contract, showing my hourly rate, and earning on monthly basis as received

OC2.1: Evidence of contributions to an open-source project

  • My Evidence: Attaching snapshots of an open source project that I did with an Upwork client.

OC3.1: Led development of high-impact digital products or services [Technical]

  • My Evidence: Attached snapshots of all the Upwork projects and details of the Upwork profile highlighting the (Impact, Earnings) from the project

OC3.3: Product designs or architecture diagram (specifically by you) [Technical]

  • My Evidence: Snapshots of Technical Cloud Architectural Diagrams that I created while working at the past employer and explaining how it works

OC3.4: GitHub account that contains lines of code + continued contribution

  • My Evidence: Three Open source repo’s highlighting project details and lines of code + Continued contribution

OC3.6: Letter from Employer detailing contributions

  • My Evidence: Snapshots of letter from current and past employers details contributions in the field and roles

Supporting Documents:

  • Attested Degrees, Certificates, Awards , All 3 CV’s of individuals LOR’s

Your MC is weak

  • LinkedIn recommendations are not valid evidence. Can you ask them to instead like more detailed support letter describing your contributions and impact?
  • internal company events don’t count: do you have speaking events at leading external tech conferences?
  • Medium articles don’t count as per official TN guidelines: it’s mentioned in the link you shared
  • salary slips are complimentary evidence and with a weak overall section, this is weak

OC1 is weak: this criteria is about demonstrating your significant contribution to product or digital innovation, proof of product in market and associated commercial traction.

You have shown only 1 evidence in OC1, you need atleast 2. You are also showing 3 OCs but you can select only 2 out of the 4.

For MC:

  • Yes I can ask the colleagues to provide a doc format highlighting detailed work (and attach snapshot)
  • Yes I have spoken to the external tech events: Have pictures of It (and can highlight it)
  • Right: I can remove the Medium Articles
  • Along with salary slip I can attach employment contracts too.

For OC:

  • OC1.1: Evidence of innovation/product development, proof of product in market and associated traction through revenue: I can show Revenue Growth Metrics, Product Usage and Retention, Marketplace or App Store Success using current and past organizations projects
  • OC1.4: Evidence of employment contract with salary information including any bonus and equity options and history of earnings: I can show snapshot of current employment contract, showing my hourly rate, and earning on monthly basis as received

and can Omit (OC2.1)

After the above alterations: The set becomes the following:

For MC:

  • MC1: Led growth of a product-led digital technology company, product, or team
  • MC2: Spoke at high-profile digital technology events
  • MC4: Commanded high salary or remuneration

For OC:

  • OC1.1(Evidence of innovation/product development, proof of product in market and associated traction through revenue.), OC1.4(Evidence of employment contract with salary information including any bonus and equity options and history of earnings.)
  • OC3.1(Led development of high-impact digital products or services [Technical]), OC3.3(Product designs or architecture diagram (specifically by you) [Technical]), OC3.4(GitHub account that contains lines of code + continued contribution), OC3.6(Letter from Employer detailing contributions)

Do you think will this suffice? With the above changes should I go with exceptional talent or promise… What do you think? Much thanks again.

I would map all the criteria to this checklist and remember that the evidence gives a lot of credibility to Scale e.g. Scale of Revenue, Count of Github stars etc. so say a open source repo is not enough… it must be a popular enough repo.
