Wife wants to switch from tier 4 to GT dependant visa

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re fine and enjoying your weekend!

Quick question- I have been on the UK Global Talent Visa 5 years route for 1 year and 6 months. And my wife who has just graduated and on Uk student visa (tier 4) wants to switch to dependant visa. As I have 3 years and 6 months before I switch to ILR, please what number of years can she apply for the dependant visa?

I. Is it 5 years straight?
2. Is it 3 years and 6 months remaining for me to switch to ILR ?

Please I need advice from @Francisca_Chiedu @May or anyone that has an answer to this question.

Thank you.

Based on SW visa experience, dependant’s visa would end on the same date as yours, she’ll be asked about your visa end date. you’ll have to pay 4 years of IHS. Not sure if it’s any different for GT dependant but it’d most likely be the same but let’s hear the experts’ opinion.

Your IHS will be calculated based on your visa end date
