I am currently in UK on Tier 2 Dependant via which expires on Sep12, 2026. I have applied for GTV endorsement early august and waiting for reply. Like usual its a 50-50 chances. I am currently working also with my right to work expiring with Visa on Sep 12.
Dilemma. Earlier I was thinking to wait for endorsement, but it seems that I might not receive a reply in next 10 days.
Option1 : Apply for tier 2 dependent visa , and re-apply later in the month or nest if i get endorsement. If not be happy with dependent visa.
Option2: Apply for tier 1 visa without endorsement, and hope i get endorsement letter before visa date. If it is positive endorsement then all good. If negative then apply for dependent.
Now option2 was suggested by Gemini AI, as it will help me visa cost saving. Because if I go for option1 and I get endorsement I wasted 900£ (dependent visa fees). however in option2 if I don’t get endorsement I will not be wasting whole fees, but just like some transaction fees of around 100£.
can someone confirm this for me? or Gemini is hallucinating as always ( though it keep mentioning section 3c).
In any case I want my right to work get extended if any option denies it I cant go in that route as I will lose more from earning than visa cost.
Any guidance will be great!!
FYI: i have a new COS from my partner for dependent visa extension
