I’ve recently been endorsed for GTV (Exceptional Talent).
I have been living in the UK with my dependents (wife and children) since October 2021 on a Skilled Worker (Tier 2) visa, which was recently extended by my employer until October 2027. I will be eligible to apply for ILR as soon as I receive my GTV, while my dependents will become eligible in October 2026.
Question: Should I include my dependents in my Stage 2 GTV application? My corporate immigration lawyer advised that it’s unnecessary since my dependents already hold valid visas for the next three years. They mentioned that if my Stage 2 application is approved, my Tier-2 visa will be transferred to GTV. Is this assessment correct?
I am quite sure I am not the first one facing this dilemma, so please let me know your thoughts
