Stage 2 - Delay Travel to UK (8 months after Stage 1)

Hello - I received my stage 1 endorsement in July and have time until October 2024 to apply for Stage 2 (I haven’t done it as on today - Aug 28). I plan to apply for my stage 2 in second week September. In the visa form where they ask for expected travel date, can I mention end of March 2025 there as I don’t plan to move immediately? That would be almost 9 months after I received my Stage 1. I want to try and delay the move as much as I can and don’t want to move immediately. I know I can always go and collect my BRP but I’d like to just move in March once and for all.

Do you think the expected travel date that is 9 months away from Stage 1 would lead to Stage 2 rejection? I went through the caseworker guide but didn’t find anything there. I’m super confused. @Francisca_Chiedu @pahuja

Hi @rohitsharma that shouldn’t be an issue.

Thanks @pahuja, this does help

I know this is a grey area but would you know if there is any published guidance that spells out how far can the expected travel date be from the visa application date? I’m sure there should be an outer limit else theoretically someone could also mention a date that’s 1.5-2 years away which wouldn’t make sense.

Why would it not? Till you go to pick your brp, it is upto you when you travel to the country. You need to enter in a stipulated time to pick your brp but beyond that, you are not bound to move or travel within a specified timeline.

Even if you are unable to travel within the 90 days of brp collection, you can apply for a new vignette.

Plus with the eVisa kicking in, you might even get the eVisa directly without the need of a brp collection (this is still unclear from home office exactly what will be granted to applicants before 31st Dec 2024).
