Stage 1 waiting times?

Received response today and it was rejection

im sorry to hear that @Poonam_Thawani
please share with us their feedback

Sorry to hear that :frowning:

Sorry about that @Poonam_Thawani

Sorry about the outcome guys ( @Poonam_Thawani and @Orchide_Irakoze_SR)

It is as envisaged, the pattern is consistent

I also observed that rejection is high for the business category (because the category is more diverse), except you are business and in UK already.

It is what it is, TechNation is a credibly good opportunity, but definitely not for everyone, I only hope they improve on the business end (it will be unfair if my assessor is not in the same field as I am, as he may be judging me from his own perspective which may be incorrect)

If one is truly exceptional in his field, TechNation shouldn’t be the end of opportunity exploration (though it definitely a good leverage if one has it).

Why not create a separate topic for it, that way the conversation will be all about your appeal

What do you mean by it is easier for business applicants to get endorsed if they are in the UK already?
I am sorry your application was refused. I actually had my reservation about your list of evidence which I shared with you. You may be working in the tech sector but not immediately eligible for endorsement. Sometimes you just need to take some steps back and work on the gaps in your supporting document before attempting the initial application.
In any event, if you believe you application was incorrectly assessed, you should turn in your endorsement review.

Assessment panel feedback:
The applicant has applied for Exceptional Talent based on Optional Criteria 1 and 2.
She has not shown how she is a leading talent in the digital technology sector. For the past 5 years she
has worked as a program and delivery manager for several MNCs.
These companies are not product-led digital technology companies as per the Tech Nation definition. ( My role was product manager within these companies however designation suggests program and delivery manager)
They are outsourcing companies focused on service and process delivery such as migration and
optimisation.
Tech Nation states that specialisms such as service delivery, process delivery, outsourcing and
consulting are generally not considered suitable for this visa.
Notwithstanding the above, the applicant has not achieved any significant recognition that would show
that she is a leading talent in the digital technology sector. She has provided several letters of
reference; some of these letters are from individuals with whom she has worked at the outsourcing and
consulting firms. None of the letters explain how the applicant is exceptional. (I had provided reference letters stating the innovations done within organizations and leadership on products). She has also provided
various documents such as offer letters and information about salary, but these do not explain why she
is exceptional. (Significant contribution and other initiatives outside work were mentioned within recommendation letters. I had added evidence of high salary since I could not share architecture/product diagrams etc due to non disclosure agreements with those organizations.)
Optional Criteria 1 requires the applicant to have a proven track record for innovation as a founder or
senior executive of a product-led digital technology company or as an employee working on a new
digital field or concept. The applicant is not a founder, or a senior executive of a product-led digital
technology nor is she an employee working on a new digital field or concept. None of the letters of
reference make any reference to innovation. Therefore, she does not meet the basic requirements for
this criteria.( I am founder of start up organization product led company as partner to these organizations. I had provided links and proofs for the same apart from recommendation letters but that fact was completely not taken into consideration.
Optional Criteria 2 requires the applicant to provide proof of recognition for work outside their immediate
occupation that has contributed to the advancement of the sector—specifically, they need to provide
evidence that they have gone beyond their day-to-day profession to engage in an activity that
contributes to the advancement of the sector. As noted above, the letters of recommendation are
primarily from line managers or colleagues from outsourcing and consultancies. All the letters relate to
the work done by the applicant in her primary role as a program manager. The applicant has developed
a fitness app for the Body of God gym and claims that this was done outside of her day-to-day
occupation. That may be true, but it does not contribute to the advancement of the sector. ( I had provided letter from this organization and other than that had provided several other initiatives done as fund raising in NGO. Mentorship at current org apart from my regular responsibilities(additional initiatives). That was not takne into conideration. She has also
received numerous technical certifications, but these are all related to her day to day job. She has not
provided any other evidence of work done outside of her day to day occupation that has advanced the
digital technology sector.( Snapshots of cloud certifications attached AWS and Azure). I had applied in cloud enterprise software area so had provided relevant evidences, They didnt take this into consideration.
Based on the above, the applicant has not provided sufficient or compelling evidence to meet the
mandatory and optional criteria and cannot be endorsed for this visa.

Planning to file appeal.

I have received the endorsement for Exceptional Talent. I’ve applied through UI/UX route.

For the record here are the dates:

Applied 15th of September
First Edit 26th of September
Second Edit 1st of October
Third Edit 2nd of October

Endorsement: 3rd of October

Based on the patterns seen on this group I knew that after the 3rd edit its usually a “make it or break it” type of situation, where you either get the endorsement in the next couple of days or you enter the “edit loop hell”.

Anyway, thank you all for the valuable insights. Don’t give up if at the moment you have received a negative response (I know I wouldn’t) and take the guidance and feedback as an opportunity to improve and shape your career to what they consider a Talent or Promise, because those are reflection of what the Tech sector in countries like the UK, US and the EU are looking for.

I will post more details on a separate post once I have time (It’s 5am here and I have checked my email through the night, so Im exhausted

@hellomotta thanks for the confirmation. I submitted my application on Sept 28th so am now trying to make sense of all the edits and time between edits. The pattern I’m seeing is that endorsed talent applications often taken ~2 weeks vs promise ~3 weeks.

My guess is they are prioritising the talent applications given the huge demand for senior talent explained in the Tech Nation 2022 people and skills report:

First edit at 22.09.2202 17.41
