I noticed most people have an award or spoke at an event. Does it mean people that didn’t do any of this have lower chances.
There are 4 optional criteria. One of them is “recognition” (including speaking at events). You can as well apply under another criteria.
My understanding of the design of the criteria is so that you are not at a significant disadvantage if you have not been visible in the field. You should be able to show “impact” , “innovation” or “academic contribution” to qualify. “Recognition” may be the easiest to verify because it is easier to google.
