Seeking for Advice for Endorsement Stage 1

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.

I am currently preparing my UK Global Talent Visa endorsement application under the Digital Technology route (Exceptional Talent),I have almost 9 year plus experience of technology sector

and I would really appreciate some advice from successful applicants and Tech Nation alumni regarding my supporting evidence and overall application structure.

1. Founder Proof and Company Ownership Documents

I am the Founder and CEO of a technology company, and I would like to clarify the following

Do founder/director position and shareholding documents count towards the maximum 10 supporting evidence documents, or can they be submitted separately

My company’s Memorandum of Association (MOA) is approximately 8 pages long. Do I need to submit the entire document, or would screenshots or relevant extracts showing my directorship and shareholding percentage, together with the Certificate of Incorporation, be sufficient?

If I include founder and company ownership documents under OC3, would that weaken my evidence, as these documents mainly establish ownership rather than significant contribution

Can I submit two strong OC3 documents demonstrating significant contributions and use a third OC3 document to support my founder status and leadership?

2. My Planned Mandatory Criteria (MC) Evidence

MC1 – International Recognition

Global Startup Awards Finalist, demonstrating recognition within the international startup ecosystem.

MC2 – Independent Media Coverage

Independent international media coverage highlighting my professional achievements, technology leadership and entrepreneurial contributions.

MC3 – Independent Industry Expert Verification

An independent verification letter from a leading technology industry expert confirming my professional achievements, leadership and contributions to the digital technology sector.

3. My Planned Optional Criteria 1 (OC1) – Innovation

OC1-A – Agritech Platform Innovation

I am the Founder and CEO of an agritech technology platform. We have developed a platform with a local-language artificial intelligence assistant designed to help farmers access agricultural information, guidance and digital services.

Our objective is to make agricultural technology accessible to millions of people, particularly farmers who face language and technology barriers.

OC1-B – Digital Agriculture, Farmer Connectivity and Food Traceability

Our agritech company is directly connected with more than 60,000 farmers.

We have developed digital solutions supporting farmer connectivity, agricultural supply chains and food traceability.

For this evidence, I have supporting materials including:

  • Verification letters from farmers’ associations
  • Farmer reviews and testimonials
  • Video footage demonstrating platform usage
  • Independent media coverage
  • Platform screenshots and supporting technical documentation

OC1-C – Company Audit Report

I am planning to submit my company’s audited financial report as additional supporting evidence to demonstrate the company’s operations, commercial activities and business growth.

4. My Planned Optional Criteria 3 (OC3) – Significant Contributions

OC3-A – Lead Software Engineer at a Group of Companies

I previously worked as a Lead Software Engineer at a group of companies, where I contributed to the development of a major mobile application.

The application has achieved approximately 5 million downloads and received more than 14,000 user reviews.

I have an official verification letter from my former employer confirming my position, responsibilities and technical contributions.

OC3-B – Technical Services and Commercial Contributions

As the Founder and CEO of my software company, I have led the delivery of technical services and software development projects for private limited companies.

I have supporting documents including:

  • Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
  • Commercial agreements
  • Invoices
  • Project delivery documentation
  • Client verification letters

OC3-C – Founder and Technology Leadership evidence of my software company

I am considering submitting evidence of my founder position, company ownership, directorship, shareholding and technology leadership.

My supporting documents include the Certificate of Incorporation, MOA and company ownership records.

However, I am concerned that founder and ownership documents alone may not be strong enough to demonstrate significant contributions under OC3.

5. My Main Questions

Based on this overall evidence structure, I would appreciate your opinions on the following:

  1. Does my proposed MC, OC1 and OC3 evidence structure appear suitable for the Exceptional Talent route?
  2. Would my company’s audited financial report be suitable as standalone OC1 innovation evidence, or should it be combined with technical innovation evidence?
  3. Can I submit three documents under MC, three under OC1 and three under OC3, making nine supporting evidence documents in total?
  4. Should I submit my founder and shareholding documents separately, or include them as supporting evidence within OC3?
  5. Would two strong OC3 documents plus one supporting founder/leadership document be sufficient?
  6. Is there anything you would recommend strengthening, replacing or reorganising before submission?
  7. Is my OC3 & MC3 is overlaping?

I would particularly appreciate feedback from applicants who have successfully received Tech Nation endorsement under the Exceptional Talent route, especially technology founders and software engineers.

Thank you very much for your time, advice and support!

Your MC1, MC2 and MC3 labels are evidence types within the single Mandatory Criterion, not three separate criteria. The Guide calls for at least two distinct evidence documents for that criterion and at least two documents under each of two optional criteria. Three documents in each of your proposed MC, OC1 and OC3 groups totals nine, within the ten-document cap. Ownership proof also counts within ten. Keep each document to three A4 sides; use relevant MOA extracts and records showing your shareholding or directorship, not all eight pages.

The award evidence should establish its national or international standing, show the media is independent and about your work, and make the expert letter specific. Recognition must be within the past five years; letters alone are insufficient. Use separate evidence documents for MC recognition and OC3 personal contribution and impact.

Audited accounts support OC1 but cannot alone show innovation. The Guide calls for latest formal accounts, with a profit and loss statement, balance sheet and director signatures; if audited accounts are unavailable, use accounts covering more than 12 months. Pair them with evidence of product innovation and market traction. Substantiate the 60,000-farmer claim and your role.

OC3 needs evidence of your personal work and significant technical, commercial or entrepreneurial impact. App download and review data, delivery records and client evidence may help if they verify your role and impact. Ownership proves founder status, not contribution; a third OC3 document should evidence more than leadership. Keep ownership proof within ten, not as a substitute for contribution.

For OC1, I would make the innovation more specific. What does the local-language assistant do differently from existing agritech or translated AI tools? What is original about your approach to farmer connectivity and traceability? Show the technical design, a concrete comparison, and evidence of how people have used it.

I would also clarify what “connected with 60,000 farmers” means. Are they active platform users, members of partner associations, or farmers you can reach through those associations? For Exceptional Talent, the audited accounts can support the company’s track record, but they cannot establish the innovation on their own. The strongest OC1 case would connect the original work to independently verified use and outcomes.
