Seeking Advice: Using Google Drive/Dropbox for Large Private Evidence Files

Hi everyone,

I’m asking on behalf of a friend who is finding it difficult to fit all of his evidence within the page and document limits for the Global Talent application. Some documents (e.g. employment contracts, ESOP grants) are private and lengthy, so he is considering placing the full versions in a secure Google Drive/Dropbox folder.

Is it acceptable to include only the relevant excerpts in the evidence file and then provide a private link to the full document for reference?

If anyone has been successfully endorsed using this approach — or has other practical suggestions — I’d really appreciate your guidance.

Thanks so much!

Drive links and private links are not accepted as per guidelines. Please include only relevant parts of the documents within the evidence set. Providing links is going to end up in a flag for breach of guidelines

@Hiren_Chandaria As @pahuja has rightly said only a list of links to online and external sources are not acceptable. However, links provided should relate to evidence within your application. I have firsthand information of successful applicants who used this approach.

And here is how the guidance puts it

Documents containing only a list of links to online sources are not acceptable, any links provided should relate to evidence within your application.

Suggestion
Include the key information and screenshots that clearly show ownership or validation directly on the evidence page. Then you can mention that, due to space limitations, the full documents are available via a Google Doc link.

I’d recommend using Google Docs because it’s reputable and widely accepted, you want to avoid using lesser known cloud links.

I must say you are a good friend to your friend.

All the best to him.

Thank you, Pahuja, for your quick response.

Hi Raphael,

Thank you very much — this is exactly what he’s trying to do. He wants to include the key excerpts and screenshots directly in the evidence file, and then provide a Google Docs link to the full version for context. The link would only point to documents that are already referenced and clearly mentioned in the evidence pack.

Your clarification on how the guidance is interpreted is extremely helpful, especially knowing there are successful applicants who used this approach. The suggestion to use Google Docs (rather than lesser-known cloud providers) also makes complete sense.

Really appreciate your time and guidance — and thank you for the the wishes.
