Review my non-tech business talent visa

Hi! First time pulling this together. Feel free to critique. I’ve chosen two points for mandatory and four points for optional. Let me know if I’ve misunderstood something or if it seems weak.

Mandatory Evidence:

  1. You led the marketing or business development at a product-led digital technology company, demonstrably enabling substantial revenue and/or customer growth or major commercial success, as evidenced by reference letter(s) from leading industry expert(s) describing your work, senior global commercial executives inside the company and/or at company partners/customers, or similar evidence.
    Evidence:
  • Letter from director stating the strategy I led and how it was first of it’s kind for the company globally.
  • 2 x Social Videos (one showing 6M organic views, one showing 100% positive brand sentiment)
  1. You have held or hold a significant expert role participating on panels, or individually, assessing the work of others in the same field or a field of specialisation related to the digital technology sector.
    Evidence:
  • Letter from director of Awards stating more about their awards panel and jury and how they’re chosen and why I was chosen
  • Screenshots of all the mentions of the awards across website, social and any press.

Optional Criteria:
How do I demonstrate that I have been recognised for my work outside of my immediate occupation that contributed to the advancement of the sector?
Evidence:

  1. Proof of mentoring (letter from director, documentation of mentoring)
  2. Proof I’m an advisor (letter from director, documentation of advising)
  3. 8 x major press articles that features me as thought leadership/quotes in the articles (i.e Yahoo Finance, Forbes, Fortune)
  4. Proof of speaking opportunity (video of speech, any screenshots of event and attendee list)

Hi, there are four optional criteria (OC), and you are expected to meet two. Which ones are you specifically targeting with your evidences?

Hey! I guess I’m confused then. I thought you had to show two mandatory points and four optional? Also I can’t find a bullet point list of what the optional points are so as you can see I pulled one of the main points I found on the application and my evidence under.

If you could help me on the clarity of how many mandatory vs optional and also if you could provide clarity on what the optional points are that would be a life saver.

@bp10 You have to submit a minimum of 2 evidence files for the mandatory criteria and to each of the two optional criteria you wish to use - a minimum of 6 files overall.
But you can submit up to 10 files, most people I’ve seen here tend to submit 4 files for MC and 3 for each OC

You can see examples of optional criteria evidences here Tech Nation Visa Guide - Tech Nation

Hi Thanks for replying. Could you help me confirm:

it’s 2 x mandatory (with min two pieces of evidence)
and 2 x optional (with around 3 evidence pieces for each?)

For optional Here’s my thoughts, would love feedback:

How do I demonstrate that I have been recognised for my work outside of my immediate occupation that contributed to the advancement of the sector?

  1. Proof I’m an advisor and mentor
Evidence: letter from director stating so, documentation of advising, press mention where it says I’m an advisor at that company.

Here’s two I’m thinking about:
1) How do I demonstrate that I have a proven track record or examples of innovation in the digital technology sector as a founder or senior executive of a product-led digital technology company or an employee working in a new digital field or concept?
I worked in big tech, it’s just not feasible to disclose the information they’re asking (traction through revenue and sales) I could provide salary and a letter.

4) How do I demonstrate that I have exceptional ability in the field by making academic contributions through research?
For non tech profiles could this be the submission of a short course on marketing published somewhere? I’m wondering how to meet this?

  • At least 2 unique documents showing you are recognised as either a leading talent or potential talent (see Mandatory Criteria) and at least 4 unique documents showing you have any two of the other necessary skills (see Optional Criteria). You cannot use the same piece of evidence for more than one criteria.

i.e. at least two documents for MC, and at least 2 documents for each OC you choose

Did you advice people outside your organization? Director seems to indicate that it’s internal.

For 1. can you clearly explain and have evidence of innovation that’s yours personally?
For 4. I don’t think a short course on marketing fits the bill.

Academic research must be endorsed by a recognised academic expert either through peer review in a recognised publication or endorsement from a leading senior academic who has supervised the individual directly.

Thanks I suppose this is where I’m stuck and thought maybe I would need a lawyer. I’ve been a recipient of the equivalent visa in the USA (O1) so I do know I’d have the evidence if I could understand the best things to put forward. Did you use a lawyer? I think it’s time for me to maybe take my case to one because I don’t feel completely clear on what of my evidence makes sense for each piece, I still feel the general application and examples are very catered to tech/eng profiles and i’m finding it hard to understand the non tech translations.

your q:
Did you advice people outside your organization? Director seems to indicate that it’s internal.
yes it was with another global advisory company so outside of my big tech job. Also built a lot with a non profit, again outside of my job.
