I have been rejected for exceptional talent. None of the criteria was awarded which was a big surprise. Any feedback would be appreciated for appeal.
Applied on 20th January 2025
Edits on 21st, 23rd, 28th and 30th of January
Rejected on 31st of January today.
Feedback is attached.
Here is the summary of my application:
MC1: Showed evidence on founding startup
MC1: Showed evidence on raising funding of US$ 2.5 MM
MC1: Showed evidence of speaking at Datastax AI conference. I spoke on enterprise AI adoption along with speakers from Microsoft on the same stage
OC1: Showed evidence of problem and solution of the product and why it is an innovative approach
OC1: Customer testimonial on how they benefitted and how we differentiate from other products
OC1: Showed employment contract with 50% increase in salary compared to last one
OC3: Showed evidence of fast growth of revenue
OC3: Showed evidence of marketing and sales contribution
OC3: Showed evidence of contribution to an AI SDK that is open source
I am not sure what kind of appeal I should do because the feedback on all the achievements sound as “not enough”. I have seen applications with less funding and revenue get endorsed however the assessor considered mine to be “not significant”. Any feedback on appeal would be appreciated.
It seems your evidence are just about two year, do you have over 5 years experience. The evidence you are provided are not sustained contributions that are over five years required for talents applicants.

Applied as EP and was reviewed for ET. I filed an appeal and received the endorsement of another piece of OC4 evidence. Eventually, I received the endorsement of one piece of OC2, but not of MC. Now I need to make a second application.
I made good progress since my review was for ET rather than EP.
My question is, will it be documented that they have approved these criteria, allowing me to submit for MC and resubmit the evidence they select for OC2 and OC4?
@Francisca_Chiedu Thank you for the clarification. I want to confirm if it is okay to state in my personal statement or use one of the 10 pieces of evidence to explain other evidence submitted and note that some evidence was already met in my previous applications.
Also, As previously mentioned, I applied for the promise, and the review process evaluated my talent based on my years of experience. I did not take out any of my experiences on LinkedIn, and I am a fellow of a professional body, which makes it difficult to limit my years. My question is, can I still apply for Promise so they can access me on talent, or should I just go for talent straight now?
This is amazing and I’m so proud of you and happy for you. I was shocked to see you didn’t get it the first time around given the strong evidence, so it must have been more technical on how it was organized. Good for you!
It doesn’t matter. A new assessor may look at the application, if the previous assessor ignored some details, then the previously accepted evidence may not be accepted but it the evidence are solid, it will still be accepted. Also note that the guide change the rules for a previously accepted evidence may have been updated.
When you submit your evidence on tech nation form. It shows the time you submitted. After your submission, it shows timelines the documents have been viewed by someone else. You may see last edited at 11am, then last edited at 7pm same day, next day there may be no edit, then edits may resume again. It suggests your application is being looked at. Some people noticed a person checking their linkedin page around the time of edits.
I was endorse under 48 hours. Applied back on Feb 7th; sent my document in on feb 11; it was forwarded feb 12th; got endorsed feb 13th.
Apologise for the late feedback; i haven’t really catch up here since then.
My appeal was what helped me really. Having to get a second criteria with different evidences makes me foucs on the MC and use there words in my first application and appeal to get them hooked convincingly.
