Reference letter signature

Hello,

I got my all three reference letters with hand signature. Do I still need to get them with digitally signed?

I have the images of documents and I converted them into pdf individually. All of them have hand signature. Does it create any problem if I send them like this?

Thanks

@darkram

From what Tech Nation states in the guidance, digital signatures does not appear to be mandatory. The guidance only explains that using a digital signature service is a way to add extra verification. It does not appear as a mandatory requirement.

Going by this, I now think hand signed can still be accepted if

  • They are on official letterhead
  • They include the referee’s full name, role, organisation, and contact details
  • The signature is clearly visible
  • The letter is genuinely written by the referee

Also, converting the scanned images into individual PDFs is also fine, provided the documents are still clear and readable.

While e‑signatures does not appear to be mandatory, I generally encourage applicants to use them because they provide an additional layer of verification and help strengthen authenticity. They have also become a common practice among applicants, and an assessor, who has discretion in evaluating evidence, could still question or dismiss a hand signed letter if anything about its origin or formatting appears unclear.

All the best
