Please review my evidences: EP - Product manager

Hi! I have been gathering my evidences for the last few months and this forum helped me greatly. First of all, thanks a lot for all your detailed feedbacks on previous applications. Now, I’m keen to have your feedbacks on my application.

I am a PM under 5 years of XP, and will be applying for Exceptional promise route with OC2 and OC3.

Evidence list:
LoR 1: Regional general manager of company A which is a product-led tech business with $xx bn valuation.
LoR 2: Ex-CPO of Company A and current founder & CTO of Company B,
LoR 3: Ex VP of Engineering of Company A

  • All have over 15 years of XP in technology field and either worked or founded product-led businesses.

MCs:
- MC #1: I led product development at a product-led digital technology company that enabled substantial revenue and customer growth and proved to be a major commercial success in company A. Here I am providing screenshots of the success of this project and my promotion thanks to this. My LoR 1 also mentions this as well.
- MC #2: There are mix evidences as:

  • My scholarship worth 30% of fees for MSc in from one of the top UK universities.
  • I have been a contributor to Interaction Design Foundation. For this, I have been awarded the “community influencer” distinction.
  • I have conducted a conference as the main speaker for in a University. +30 people have attended the webinar. Linkedin announcement ss and LinkedIn posts ss to appreciate my insights.
    - MC #3: Employment Verification Letter & Stock options I were given from both Company A and Company B. Together with appreciation/ recom from my ex-manager from Company A as proof of this stock.

OC2:
- OC2-E1: I conducted a conference as the main speaker in an international organization (Company E) to more than 100 people from diverse global regions. SS from that webinar (with # of people showing 100), webinar’s poster and email within that company, comments from employees after my conference.
Date: on 7th of march.
- OC2-E2: Outside of my normal day-to-day job role, I was a senior contributor to a large technology-led industry initiatives for Company C and Company D.

  • Two voluntary project contributions durated for 6 months each (with NDAs for both). Visuals of me working in their offices, success letter for the project approved by a national organization community.
    - OC2-E3: My newspaper publications, which has been the top article in one of them. (the newspapers have 100k+ followers on social media and circulation around of 55K printed).
  • Dates: one published on 30th March and the other is on this Sunday.
    - OC2-E4: Appreciation letters (1.5 pages each) from owner of Company C and Director of Regional Growth of Company E, mentioning my contributions and my PR profile to support recognition overall.

OC3:
- OC3-E1: A successful project at Company B that I led and successfully launched, there has been a $xxxk transfer volume with this project up to date mentioned by LoR2.
- OC3-E2: Leading the development of the incentive infrastructure from scratch within Company B. After the incentive infrastructure was developed, significant new customer acquisition is shown together with campaign journey PDs. Mentioned by LoR2
- OC3-E3: A project in company A which I was the responsible of Regional-level partnership / integration that had a direct impact in increase in orders, mentioned by LoR1 too.

Questions:

  • Does translation count within 3 page limit? (translations of my publications etc as most of them are in Turkish). As I tried to fit 2 of my publications in different national newspapers within 3 pages, they are not readable due to size.
  • What do you think about the order/ structure and strength of each (MC-OC2 and OC3)? Thanks a lot again! @Francisca_Chiedu @hsafra @May @alexnk

I think that’s too small an audience to use for MC. You might want to use the conference you have in OC2.

You need to show these are substantially higher than the norm for a similar role in your region

No, the translations are on top of the 3 pages. Make sure to use certified translations.

thanks for the response. I was in the same thinking for scholarship and 30+ viewer conference evidence, changed MC#2 to OC2. And took OC2-E2 into 2 different projects as they are both impactful & have appreciation letters which is hard to fit in 3 pages together.
I’ll be using one of them (as the founder have great XP in tech industry with Silicon valley C level roles) in MC.

Do I need to show my equity is higher than the norm for a similar role? Most of the companies are not giving stock at all. If referring to salary, I’ll be supporting it with different Glassdoor comparisons.

What do you think of the overall strength of the application?

Yes, compare salary to Glassdoor. Is there a goos way to prove that your received equity while it’s usually not part of the compensation?

For overall - I applied on a technical role, let’s wait for someone from a business role to pitch in.

I agree with the @hsafra 's comment.

Here are my comments on top of that:

  • Your MC seems to be weak as you are betting on your MC#1 with MC#3 as a validator and to support it. Try adding a few more here.

Your OC2 seems to be in doubt, you need to make sure that your provided evidence match Tech Nation’s requirements.

  • OC2-E1. Was it a high-profile digital technology sector events, or specialist events for your particular field in the digital technology sector?
  • OC2-E3. Was the news about digital technology?

Your OC3 seem ok.
Make sure you focus on the efficient number of figures, tables, graphs, or any legit report you can refer to, together with a few explanations. Supported by LOR will be great as it will proof that your evidence is not self-authored.

Hey there! thanks for the feedback. Based on your & @hsafra 's comments, I reorganized with a table image with response to your questions as well (OC e1-e3) and a rearrangement in MC. And yes, for the conference/webinar, it was a very high-profile organization with 300K+ followers (as company) WW and 10K+ employees. External attendance was also approved. My role was to help technical-focused employees a wider approach by providing how global digital product management can create an impact (with current practices such as AI)

OC2-1 (company C) & OC2-3 (company D) both seem like contracted work from the description. If that’s true then they’re your day to day work, not outside of it

No, they are both volunteer projects I helped the organizations. NDAs are to prove these are “unpaid and voluntary” to help/advise in particular area for the success of these projects.

@b_pm24 I am worried about your OC2, as they may not specifically help to advancement of the sector, but they were only to help an organization(s).

Also, for your OC2-E1 and OC2-E3, are you able to talk about a structured programs or mentorship? The volunteer project of one specific company as an unpaid job seems unusual for me.
