Hello, I’m a software engineer applying for the exceptional promise route. I need your suggestions regarding the following.
Do my recommenders have to digitally sign on the letters they write for me which already have their email, phone, and company letterheads?
I worked remotely for 3 different companies at the same time, and they’ve all written a letter of recommendation for me explaining my work, I want to know if it’s a red flag to indicate on my CV that I worked 3 jobs at the same time.
Do I need to include what every company said about my work in my pieces of evidence? I’m currently using pieces of evidence from only 2 companies, although my 3rd company also said a lot about my work.
I have a tech YouTube channel with almost 3k subscribers as well as a nursing quiz mobile on the Play Store with over 5k downloads. Can I add these to my MC as stuff I did outside work?
Feedback from you guys will be highly appreciated, thank you all.
@jeron Hi, here are the suggestions on your questions:
Yes, your letter of recommendation must be signed as per the guidelines. The inclusion of email, phone numbers, and company letterheads does not replace the need for an actual signature.
While working for 3 different companies at the same time might give the assessor the impression you would not have been able to achieve exceptional results in the field, you might want to focus on your contributions and achievements in each role and also arrange your experience section on your CV with the most recent experience coming first.
While it is not required to include evidence from every company, it is advisable to include any evidence that strengthens your application. If the third company provides additional achievements or contributions that have not been fully covered by the other two, including it could strengthen your case.
You can definitely include your Youtube channel and Mobile app to your OC
Thank you @pahuja. Regarding my first question, my recommendation letters were sent via email, can the authors embed their signatures like an image? Will that be okay?
Letters must be signed on letterheads - email letters don’t work as per guidelines. Image signatures raise doubts on the authenticity - it’s in the best interest of your own application that you submit letters in the guided manner to not raise unnecessary doubts on authenticity.
