PBS dependent switching from Tier 2 to Tier 1

Hello :wave:,

I’m currently on a Tier 2 visa (5 years) with my wife and child as Point Based System (PBS) dependents. I’ve just got my endorsement for Tier 1 visa exceptional talent and I’m set to apply for the stage 2.

In both cases (Tier 2 or Tier 1), my wife and child visas would be always PBS dependents.

My question is:
Do I need to apply for my wife and child to change their visas (to what?) or it should be ok to keep them on the current visa as it’s already a PBS dependent visa. Did any have to go through this?

Their current visa already cost a lot for the IHS and visa fees. Do I need to switch and repay again?

Hi Tarek,

Did you use recommendations from previous employers before you got the Tier 2 visa or all your recommendations were gotten from within the UK?

This person was endorsed in 2020. So the criteria when he applied may be different from recent applicants. Don’t limit your recommendation letters to your current or previous employers. If you can get known experts in the industry to recommend you.
