Hello everyone, good evening. Please, I have a question on this new design pathway that the UK government created for design from July 1 2026. Can a designer who has already prepared their application in line with technation continue their application to technation even though there’s a new pathway?

Based on the information available online, I believe this isn’t a new pathway but the same eligible discipline that has simply moved from one endorsing body to another, with additional sub disciplines added. It’s still important to understand the new endorsing body’s requirements, but the overall purpose remains the same, the focus will still be on contribution, impact, innovation, relevance, and how valuable or promising someone is to the UK sector as relative to the endorsing body. So, contribution and impact in tech may also look very different from contribution and impact in Art and Culture. So, it’s important you visit the new endorsing body guidelines to make necessary adjustment.

From what @badesemowo rightly said, it also depends. I believe the UX/UI designers are still within the scope of TN but Product design and other new design discipline as listed in the official correspondence are the ones that will go through the new endorsing body.

It depends on your area of design. Designers can be endorsed by tech nation or art council via DBA. Digital design and UI/UX are not eligible for the new path way.
