Need Feedback on my Appeal Review

Dear Forum Members,

I submitted my application for my Stage 1 Endorsement under “Exceptional Talent” route on Jun 28, and received a refusal on July 27, citing issues with meeting all the criterias. I would greatly appreciate any advice or feedback from those who have successfully gone through the appeal process.

Background:

My current role is the CMO in a blockchain+AI company. My submission included the following:

CV, Personal Statement, and LORs:

  1. LOR from my current CEO, highlighting my leadership in AI and Blockchain.
  2. LOR from a former CFO, emphasizing my business acumen and recognition in the XR industry.
  3. LOR from my first startup co-founder, showcasing my impact in the start-up, fintech and blockchain spaces.

Mandatory and Optional Criteria Evidence:

MC01: Rebranding success recognized by global media outlets, leading to significant growth.
MC02: Public speaking at major events, showcasing expertise in AI and Blockchain.
MC03: Published materials in tech media, demonstrating industry influence.
MC04: Participation in panels and expert roles, assessing work in digital technology.

I chose OC2 and OC3, and here are the 6 evidences:

1: Contributions through AI-generated video marketing, leading to commercial success.
2: Contributions to a decentralized community, integrating Web3 with traditional brands.
3: Significant impact through product marketing, leading to substantial growth.
4: Evidence of sustained contributions in AI and blockchain innovation.
5: Documentation of employment contract and option incentives, highlighting my critical role.
6: Demonstrated leadership in marketing strategies and product launches.

2,3,4 are for OC2; 1,5,6 are for OC3

Here is the screenshot of the feedback I received:

Appeal Draft Summary:

  1. Recommendation Letters: Clarified the qualifications of letter authors, explained the use of DocuSign, and highlighted broad industry recognition.

  2. MC Evidence: Addressed the significance of my leadership in rebranding, media coverage, and speaking engagements, demonstrating industry-wide recognition and impact.

  3. OC2 Contributions: Detailed field-advancing activities, showing consistent contributions beyond my role.

  4. OC3 Impact: Demonstrated significant commercial success and recognition through innovative marketing strategies and the receipt of an option incentive.

Questions:

• Does my appeal sufficiently address the feedback received?
• Are there any areas where I can strengthen my arguments or provide additional evidence?
• Any advice on presenting this information more effectively in my appeal?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @jenniekusu

  1. You cannot add any new piece of evidence or information in the appeal. You can only redirect the assessors attention to parts of your original application which demonstrate the criteria but you think the assessor either misread, overlooked or misunderstood.

  2. You should be very specific about the document name, paragraph, line number that you want to quote.

hi @jenniekusu it seems appears that they are not convinced by your recommendation letters and found issue with all criteria. you may want to reapply.

Hi @jenniekusu - I’m sorry to hear about the decision and I wish you lots of luck in the appeal process!! May I quickly ask - For your LOR, did you only submit the letters, and nothing else from Docusign? Were the letters generated from your Docusign account, or each individual account of the experts?

Thank you for the advice. I found that in the review pdf, the box space is limited with only 250 words. I felt that I can’t explain everthing in the box. Can I attach another file including the full-version of my appleal content and send it with the review pdf?

For the LOR, there is only “envelop number” from Docusign and I didn’t attach another files containing the sign history. The letter is written by the experts and was sent to me. I created the Docusign envelope and send back to experts for them to sign.
