Hello,
I’m preparing my evidence for the GTV application, I have a Nature publication (which is a huge part of my MC) and was a big part of my work, I plan to use this for OC4 as well along with 2 other peer reviewed paper (but not in Nature). Just wanted to check on what’s allowed to be “reused” from MC to OC; obviously not a copy paste of the same evidence; but it would be talking about the similar projects I was involved in etc. Is this allowed? If phrased differently etc?
Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you.
The same underlying research project can support MC and OC4, but the same evidence document cannot be counted under both. Each item needs a distinct purpose: MC evidence must show your individual recognition in digital technology, while OC4 evidence needs to demonstrate your academic research.
The Nature paper alone does not establish both. Keep it under the criterion it supports best and use separate papers for OC4 if they meet that test.
@sarahmet Trust your good.
You can use the same achievement in different criterion if
- They rightly meet the criterion requirement
- You are not using the same evidence
So, for MC, it needs to show recognition of you or your work that has advanced the sector and for OC4 your contribution to the sector through research. Also, bear in mind that just peer reviewed papers will not show how you have contributed to the sector through research. You need to show impact like citations, views, references and what have we.
Also, whilst Nature is prestigious, it is not a technology focused journal. It is a multidisciplinary scientific journal that publishes research across the physical, biological, earth, and applied sciences, as well as engineering. I have seen papers dismissed on this basis. So, I will suggest you use it as a supporting evidence and not the leading evidence on each criterion.
All the best.
