As an Australian citizen with over 15 years of expertise in cybersecurity, I am eager to relocate to the United Kingdom to advance my professional capabilities and contribute to its dynamic digital landscape. My career has been dedicated to fortifying the security frameworks of major Australian and international technology and cybersecurity corporations, including Telstra, CyberCx With a robust background in areas such as threat mitigation, vulnerability management, and compliance with global standards like ISO 27001 and GDPR, I have consistently delivered impactful solutions for enterprise clients in finance, telecommunications, and government sectors.I am inquiring about the suitability of applying for a UK visa, such as the Global Talent visa, given my background, and whether my service-focused experience aligns with the requirements for such pathways. I am financially stable, meet all health and character requirements, and am enthusiastic about the prospect of making a meaningful impact in the UK.
Hi @Anderson
You have come a long way in your career, to guide and answer your question on suitability, you will need to arrange your evidence set like this Stage 1 Review Request: Exceptional Talent (2MC + 4OC2 + 2OC3) - Backend Engineer with Community Leadership
@somto_zech I hope you don’t mind my referencing your application set for educational purpose. Thank you
Thank you for your response. I’d like to clarify that I am a cybersecurity and network architect with extensive experience working for large consultancies, rather than product-focused companies. Given that the Tech Nation website indicates they do not accept applications from consultancies, would it still be worthwhile to pursue their endorsement?
No, roles in large consultancies are not eligible to apply.
thanks a lot for clarifications:)
@Anderson I stand to be corrected and will be happy to take correction.
I think with the new update a Cybersecurity expert(Technical Skills or Role) from non-technical organisations are eligible.
You can read through a case here, of someone thought not to be eligible but had a confirmation from another person with the same role who got endorsed.
So, you appear to be eligible from the statements in the Tech Nation guidance, however it will now depends heavily on how your role, achievements, experiences and employers now align with the requirements. But in short your role “in a non technical organisations is eligible”
My advice: Get an expert to confirm your most recent employers service operandi, your roles, achievements and experiences over time to determine your suitability.
thanks for your reply. What kind of expert do you mean? I also have CCIE in security and Masters in Cybersecurity from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane
These are good but certifications and Masters don’t do much in this regards. If you had first class and track record of academic excellence, research publications. Then can just add some level of credibility to your narrative, used as supporting evidence.
But these are not reliable evidence set.
