How to Gather Evidence as a System Administrator

Hi Everyone.

This platform has given me good headspace.

However, I would like to ask please And I need your input.

For someone who is a system administrator, how does this evidence play out here?

All I can boasts of is my certs and skills.
The other factors, I don’t see how I can make it look like it.

Please I need help. Operating System Engineer is part of the professionals they’re interested in.

I’m afraid System Admin roles are generally not accepted by Tech Nation. From the guidelines:

"Please note the following specialisms are generally not considered suitable:

  • Service Delivery, Process Delivery, Outsourcing, Consultancy (technical or management), ERP Consultancy, Systems Admin and all related fields."

Tech Nation Visa Guide - Tech Nation.

But if you have other evidence (besides the current Sys Admin experience) of developing / improving the infra of a product-led startup/company or doing automation etc. - which had positive impact on the users / product performance - it may work. I’d refrain from using Sys Admin evidences, and try to gather as much as possible from other kinds of technical contributions and outside work conferences, mentoring, articles etc.

I think it falls under Operating System Engineer.

Would that suffice?

You might want to use DevOps / SysOps engineers since OS engineer might be the persons writing Operating systems - not quite sure what TN refer there.
As for evidence, it’s pretty similar to other tech roles - do you have large projects that you worked on? Can you show impact on your org? Do you have evidence for contribution outside your work?
