Hello, I am moving to the UK and would like to open a bank account. Any recommendations? How long does it usually take to open one and what do I need to apply?
It depends on your luck really. but the mininum in most cases is about 2 months. You can do it earlier if you join someoe and have them agree to insert your name in utility bill/s. Thus, you can get address proof faster. There might be other ways to prove residence as well.
Opening bank account can take upto 1-2 weeks if applying online and 1-3 days if you visit bank personally and provide you passport copy.
