Help! Did I Mix Up My MC and OC Numbering for the Global Talent Visa?

Hi everyone,

I’d really appreciate some help with properly numbering my MC and OC evidence for the Global Talent Visa. I don’t want to risk mixing up the sequence or attributing my evidence to the wrong criteria.

To explain better, here are two sample descriptions from the guidance:

  • MC1 (example): You led the growth of a product-led digital technology company, product, or team — evidenced by reference letters, news clippings, public code, etc.
  • MC2 (example): You led marketing or business development at a product-led digital technology company, contributing to significant growth — evidenced by reference letters, commercial impact, etc.

When I started compiling my evidence, I labeled it under MC1. However, now I’m realizing that my work mainly focused on marketing and commercial growth, which sounds more like it fits MC2.

This became clearer once I began organizing my OC evidence — the way the numbering is structured made me question whether I misnumbered my MC section.

Can someone please help clarify how I should number my MC and OC correctly? I want to make sure my evidence aligns with the right criteria. Thank you so much!

Mandatory Criteria (MC) isn’t exactly numbered. You might use different documents as evidence to satisfy the criteria, but it’s not numbered like the Optional Criteria ( 1 - 4).

Essentially, all you are trying to prove for MC is that you have been recognised as (or recognised as having the potential to be) a leading talent in the digital technology sector in the last 5 years?**
