Guidance on Document Structure

Hi all.

Looking for a quick sanity check on my document structure before I submit.
I am applying on the Digital Technology route. My evidence covers the mandatory criterion and two optional criteria (OC2 and OC3).

The anchor of my application is a successful product I co-founded, led technically, and which was acquired.
A few questions:

  1. Can I use evidence for the same product across the mandatory criterion and OC3, as long as each document frames it differently? For example, MC focuses on recognition and remuneration, while OC3 focuses on my personal technical and commercial contribution.
  2. My understanding is that each document contains one piece of evidence. Given that, does splitting one product’s story across multiple documents dilute the application, or does it strengthen it by covering different angles?
  3. From what I can see in the visa application form, it only allows me to select two optional criteria. Is that correct, or is it possible to evidence more than two?

  1. Being a co‑founder already positions you strongly to show how you led both the team and the development of a product in a tech company. The fact that you’re technical gives you an advantage in demonstrating your technical contributions, and as a founder you can also speak to the commercial side in OC3. The key is to be strategic in how you distribute this across the criteria. For MC, focus on leadership and recognition of the product you led that was acquired. Show statutory leadership artefacts, how you led the development of the product as a founder, acquisition evidence and for remuneration, it can support, but it’s not enough on its own, you still need to show how you have advanced the sector outside your paid job.

  2. Yes, each evidence set should be unique. Using only one product across multiple criteria can weaken an application, although this depends on the type of evidence you provide and how you frame it.

  3. For the Tech Nation application, you are required to select two OCs out of the four available. You’ve done that correctly with your OC2and OC3.
