GTV Endorsement Timing vs Visa Expiry – What are my options to maintain right to work?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for the Tech Nation endorsement under the Exceptional Promise route by the end of this month. However, I have a concern regarding my visa timeline and would really appreciate some guidance.

My current visa is valid until 7 July 2026, and based on current timelines, it seems unlikely that I will receive a decision on my endorsement application before my visa expires.

Given this situation, I’m unsure about the best course of action to ensure I can continue working without any disruption and maintain my legal right to work in the UK.

Specifically, I have a few questions:

  1. Would it be advisable to apply for another visa (e.g., FLR or alternative route) while my Tech Nation endorsement is in progress?
  2. Is it possible or recommended to proceed with the Global Talent Visa application in parallel, even if my current visa is nearing expiry?
  3. Are there any bridging options or visa extensions available that would allow me to remain employed legally while waiting for the endorsement decision?

I am currently employed and want to ensure there is no gap in my right to work.

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Sunil

You can apply for stage 2 while waiting for stage 1. This is not immigration advise best to contact an immigration lawyer

Yeah you can apply for stage 2 after submitting stage 1. It will extend as a section 3C if your visa expires before you get the response. That’s what I did.

Thank you for your time @Francisca_Chiedu

@Tolubal If the Tech Nation endorsement gets rejected, will the visa application automatically be rejected as well? Or will the application remain open until we submit an appeal or administrative review? Could you please explain how the process works?

When your application is refused and while you have the right to administrative review your status remains valid. You can submit a review or submit an application for a new visa for your status to continue to be valid.

Thank you so much@Tolubal
