Global Talent Visa - Vignette vs. eVisa for First Entry

Hi everyone,

I’m seeking some clarity on entering the UK with a Global Talent visa, particularly with the recent shift to eVisas.

I was granted my 4-year UK Global Talent visa last November (2024). As per the standard process at the time, I also applied for and received the vignette sticker in my passport. The usual expectation is to enter the UK using this vignette and then collect a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card.

However, I haven’t moved to the UK yet due to existing work commitments and a lack of immediate job opportunities there.

Since then, the UK has been phasing out BRP cards and moving to a fully digital immigration status (eVisa). I’ve successfully registered myself and my family, and we now have our eVisas with a clear reference to our Global Talent visa.

My question is: Given that I now have an eVisa, and the UK is moving away from BRPs and vignettes (especially for main work/study routes from July 15, 2025), do I still need to enter the UK by applying for the physical vignette in my passport, or can I simply use my eVisa which references my Global Talent visa?

I’m planning to visit the UK this November (2025) and want to ensure a smooth entry. Any advice or experiences from others in a similar situation would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.
