Global Talent Visa (ILR) at Risk — UK Residents, We Need Your Voice!

On 12 May 2025, the government announced plans to change UK immigration rules. The government plans to increase the wait time for ILR to 10 years. They explained the changes in a ‘white paper’ - this is a type of government plan. The changes in the white paper aren’t law yet and might change.
The change will apply to most visas that let you get ILR - for example work visas. These new rules mean you’ll have to wait longer to get British citizenship. We don’t know yet if it will affect people already in the UK on visas.

What is the point here?
My point here is to invite us to sign a simple petition form to exempt all existing TIER 1 high-skilled visa holders and their replacement visa types (including Global Talent, Investor, Innovator Founder, Entrepreneur), and their dependents from the 10-year ILR rule. Preserve 3 and 5-year ILR and 12-month citizenship timelines. Exempt Global Talent and 'highest skilled worker' visas from 10-year ILR rule - Petitions

How long will it take to finish the form?
Perhaps 15 seconds to finish this very simple form.

How can sign the petition?
Only British citizens or UK residents have the right to sign.

If you’re a UK resident or citizen—or know someone who is—please share this. Your signature could help protect fairness and stability for thousands of skilled professionals and their families.
