I am applying for the Global Talent visa (Exceptional Promise) from within the UK. I have already submitted my Stage 1 endorsement application and am currently completing Stage 2. My current dependant visa expires in the first week of July.
While completing the Stage 2 application, I added my spouse as a dependant and selected a 5-year visa. The IHS page is showing £10,350, which appears to be the correct 5-year IHS amount for two people (£5,175 each).
However, when I started a separate dependant application for my spouse, the IHS amount shown was approximately £517.50 rather than £0. I have not paid either application yet.
My understanding is that dependants normally submit a separate application and pay their own visa fee and IHS. Therefore, I am confused why my application appears to include two people’s IHS charges, while the separate dependant application is also generating an additional IHS amount.
Has anyone recently applied for Global Talent from inside the UK with a dependant partner and experienced something similar? I would appreciate any guidance before proceeding with payment.
