Promising Talent | Product Marketing Manager with 5+ Years Experience in Tech

Hi all!

I’m currently preparing documentation to showcase my experience and achievements, and I’d love your feedback on what I’ve put together so far.

Here’s a snapshot of my key accomplishments and proof points across two tech brands:

  • Financial statements signed by the CEO & Chairman confirming revenue growth attributed to my work, within a year of joining
  • Documented salary increases and bonuses awarded in recognition of performance over 2 years
  • Boosted Playstore app ratings from 2.5 to 4.9 with before & after reviews as evidence
  • Grew user base from 0 to 100,000 within 6 months of joining; awarded Employee of the Year for this achievement, proof on the Play Store, and social proof
  • At my second brand, I acquired 60,000 users in 8 months and generated $80,000 in revenue in Q3 alone - I have dashboards/database proof for this
  • Secured the company’s largest client (a well-known brand), leading to the highest-ever revenue, supported by a client testimonial letter. I have email proof and campaigns all on socials
  • Delivered 3 speaking engagements with social proof and video evidence
  • Conducted tech marketing training for 30+ students with online testimonials, social posts, and certificates issued
  • Founded a tech startup currently in development with a live website and active sign-ups
  • Hosted Twitter Spaces events with 700+ attendees as part of community engagement for a tech brand
  • Received 3 reference letters from CEOs of the tech companies I worked with

PS - I combined all the speaking engagements into 1 document, or should I separate them because I don’t have up to 10 supporting documents yet

Is it a good enough proof

Thank you so much Raphael

  • Product type is Fintech, size over 50 staff members, and it’s a known brand
  • All product-led digital businesses
  • So I did the majorly part of the job - planning, implementation, and report - I was the team lead
  • Only one is really, but I have other speaking engagements coming up

You think I should still keep gathering or what documents can boost my 2 brands so I can add them

Hi @Morrel_Ikem can you please split the above evidence outline into 3 criteria so it’s easier for others to review and give feedback?

  1. Mandatory Criteria - Recognition as a leader in the digital tech sector
  • Gave 3 industry talks (I’ve got videos + social proof)
  • Ran a tech marketing training for 30+ learners, have testimonials, and issued certificates
  • Hosted Twitter Spaces with 700+ attendees, focusing on community-led growth in tech
  • Founded a tech startup (live website + early users)
  • Secured 3 reference letters from CEOs I’ve worked with
  • Also have a supporting letter from a major brand, directly acknowledging my impact on their growth and marketing strategy
  1. Optional Criteria - Significant commercial or entrepreneurial contribution
  • Helped scale a company to ₦9 billion (£4.6 million) in revenue within a year of joining, supported by a signed financial statement from the CEO and Chairman
  • Grew an app from 0 to 100,000 users in 6 months and improved its Play Store rating from 2.5 to 4.9, earning Employee of the Year
  • At another brand: gained 60,000 users in 8 months and drove $80,000 in revenue in Q3 (proof via dashboard/data access)
  • Helped secure the company’s biggest client, leading to record-breaking revenue, I have a campaign archive + testimonial as proof
  • Salary increase and performance bonuses over 2 years, with HR and finance documentation showing reward for results
  1. Optional Criteria - Recognition outside of immediate employment
  • Speaking engagements and trainings were done independently, not tied to my employer
  • Twitter Spaces were hosted for a tech brand outside my work
  • The startup I’m building is self-initiated and separate from any full-time role
  • Social proof (comments, posts, shout-outs) around my content and work mostly come from the wider tech ecosystem, not internal teams

Thank you so much for the feedback

I also have a book that has recorded over 200 downloads since its release in April. Is it something to add? Should it be optional or mandatory?

It is ok to position yourself as a product marketing manager. If that’s your job title on LinkedIn, be honest and consistent, what matters is that you worked within the context of a productlef company and you have evidence to show you are a future or recognised leader in the field.

I really don’t know what you are on about, I responded directly to the applicant so I see no reason why you are tagging me in a post and saying all the lengthy things you said. I note you flagged my response which is funny as this was never directed to you

Your evidence shows promising foundations, but I’d focus on strengthening the story that connects everything together. Your revenue growth achievements are impressive, especially the ₦9 billion milestone and user acquisition numbers. The key is making sure each piece demonstrates leadership rather than just good performance metrics.

I’d recommend restructuring how you present your role positioning. While “Product Marketing Manager” is honest, consider emphasizing the commercial growth and strategy aspects of your work. Your fintech experience with 50+ staff companies provides good context, but quantify your team leadership responsibilities more specifically.

Your speaking engagements and community work show external recognition, which is excellent for the mandatory criteria. However, strengthen this by ensuring your industry talks demonstrate thought leadership rather than just participation. The startup you’re building is valuable evidence, but provide concrete metrics - current user numbers, revenue projections, or partnerships secured. Your Twitter Spaces with 700+ attendees shows community influence, but document the topics covered and any follow-up engagement to demonstrate lasting impact on the tech ecosystem.
