Exceptional Talent Vs Promise

Hello everyone,

I need your advice regarding my Global Talent Visa application. I have 7 years of experience as a startup founder in the blockchain industry. Someone suggested that I apply under “Exceptional Promise” instead of “Exceptional Talent.” Their reasoning is that if I apply for “Exceptional Promise” but qualify for “Exceptional Talent,” I could still be endorsed for “Exceptional Talent.” However, if I apply for “Exceptional Talent” and they deem me unqualified, I could be rejected outright, even if I meet the criteria for “Exceptional Promise.”

The advice seems to suggest that applying under “Exceptional Promise” is a safer approach. Has anyone had experience with this? Specifically, has anyone applied under “Exceptional Promise” and ended up being endorsed for “Exceptional Talent”?

I’d appreciate your insights. Thank you!

Please I want to confirm this, has anyone applied under exceptional promise and got endorsed as exceptional talent?

You can apply to any route you like! They will assess you basis their definition of the route linked to number of years of experience. If it’s > 5 they will assess you on talent irrespective of what you apply for.

I applied for Promise with 8 years experience but was assessed and endorsed for Talent by TN.

You can apply for either route! If you are confident that your evidences and achievements are exceptional enough for Talent, go for it.

It also depends on the assessor: quite a number of people with 5+ years experience have been assessed and endorsed for Promise, because they gave convincing reasons on why they applied for that route despite their years of experience.

However, I don’t think the Promise route being a “safer” option would be a valid reason, and it definitely doesn’t guarantee endorsement.
Here’s a recent example from someone with >5 years experience, applied for Promise and was assessed on Promise route because they gave a valid reason.

The question you need to ask yourself, do I have strong evidence that qualifies me for exceptional taleht, if the answer is yes then apply for talent, if the answer is no then attempt promise.

I have substantial evidence to support my application, but my main concern is the lack of video recordings of my talks at events. While I do have photographs, news articles mentioning me as a speaker, and event programs featuring my image, the absence of video recordings is my only worry about applying for the Exceptional Talent endorsement.

Thank you for your support
