Exceptional Promise/ Digital Marketing Review Request

Hi everyone,

I hope all is well!

I have found out about Global Talent Visa for marketing very recently and I’m still trying to figure out whether or not I qualify so this is a very early stage draft. I’d love to get your feedback on whether I even qualify for this so I can work on improving it.

For some context, I am a marketing professional with around five years of general marketing experience. For the past year I’ve been working as a client solutions manager for a company that’s a representative of Google in my country and the product that I have worked on is Google Ads. I’m not sure whether this even falls under (product based) because we’re not an agency or consultancy, my job is technical and product focused, with the goal or growing product adoptions in the market.

Here’ my initial application draft (again very early stages). I’d be very grateful for any feedback you can offer me.

Mandatory evidence

  • show they have been recognised as having potential to be a leading talent in the digital technology field in the last 5 years.

1- Salary slips proving that my income is much higher than the market average / proof of reception of bonuses/ initial offer

2- speaking event: delivering a workshop for tech businesses in the biggest tech conference in my country

3- I’m trying to think of what would be the best thing to do here: I can either provide a testimonial from some clients/ someone in my company on how the business grew in Iraq and my individual contribution to that growth / show overall profit growth/ or i can provide an extra recommendation letter from a former manager further attesting to my potential/ or maybe something else I’m not fully convinced with either of these

Optional criteria 1: they have made significant technical, commercial or entrepreneurial contributions to the field as a founder or employee of a product-led digital technology company

1- I can focus this on overall profit contributions for my company/ how the profit grew year over year or quarter over quarter for my accounts and new to google business i brought in and grew (commercial) - showing screenshots from accounts/ growth in profits/ testomonials from teammates/ clients

2- Case studies: individual examples of published case studies that show how my work with clients has shaped success of campaigns and had a direct impact on their businesses (technical)

3- an additional recommendation letter from former product lead on the team attesting to my technical ability and how he thinks i impacted the business/ experience of working with me

Optional criteria 2: innovation as a founder of a product led digital technology company or as an employee working on a new digital field or concept
1-Product adoption/ Strategy support with impact on business for individual clients showing before and afters of campaign results, and getting a testimonial from the client on the impact the support has had on their business with a focus on AI Based products

2- Educational contributions-
Workshop series: I’ve held a workshop series for over 50 local business to improve their digital Google ads and help them to adopt Google ads, which led to the growth of google ads (a new technology in the market). These workshops covered three areas (creative: teaching companies the new way of how to create content for the new digital age / technical: teaching them how to use the product and take advatgae of AI technology to grow their business/ stratgey: teaching them how to lead growth for their business through detailed innovatie startegies using AI that I personally tailored for their business)

  • i have slides, feedback from clients, linked in posts that prove the above
** not sure if both of these qualify for innovation as I am using a product that exists so i’m a bit worries about that

3- need to think of something else here

**additional evidence: 1- Google ads certifications / google marketing advanced expert certificate

Would be very grateful for your feedback! @pahuja @Francisca_Chiedu

Thanks

Hi @aa31

If it’s a company similar to Google, it will be considered product-led. Ensure you establish its products, scale etc in your application clearly.

MC

  • salary evidence is usually considered as a supporting one and you should aim for meeting the criteria without the need of salary evidence so it just acts as an add-on
  • letters from customers could be better for the last one: they need to highlight how you created an impact that has impacted the sector

You are confusing OC1 with OC3 and OC1 with OC2. OC1 is about innovation and OC3 about impact.

Your above listed OC1 falls under OC3 and looks fine. Do the case studies mention your name? Can you show sales pipeline, revenue growth from dashboards? Ensure you have backing validation to self-claims

Your above listed OC2 falls under OC1

  • none of the evidences listed above show innovation, you need to rework on this.

From your profile, you seem to be a strong candidate for the Global Talent Visa under the Promise category. Your work at Google’s representative company shows technical expertise in a product-focused role. The high salary and bonuses provide good evidence for the mandatory criteria.

Your workshop delivery at your country’s largest tech conference is valuable evidence. Client testimonials and growth metrics from these initiatives would strengthen your case. However, you’ll need stronger evidence for Optional Criteria 2 (Innovation). Using an existing product like Google Ads may not qualify as innovation in a new digital field. Consider focusing more on how you’ve developed novel strategies or approaches, particularly around AI implementation.

For Optional Criteria 1, your commercial contributions through profit growth and new business acquisition are relevant. Include specific metrics and case studies showing direct impact. Get recommendation letters from senior technical leaders who can speak to both your technical abilities and business impact.

Consider adding evidence of any published articles, speaking engagements, or industry recognition beyond just certifications. The Google Marketing Expert certification is good supporting evidence but shouldn’t be a primary piece. Focus your application on demonstrating how you’ve gone beyond standard implementation to drive innovation in digital marketing through AI and technical expertise. This will better align with the visa’s focus on digital technology leadership.
