Exception Promise with 5 Years and 6 Months of Experience

The guidelines state:

Exceptional promise applicants are likely to have less than 5 years of experience in technology, but can have had a longer career in another type of work.

Does it make sense to apply for Exceptional Promise if I have 5 Years and 6 Months of Experience? Do I have a chance at EP? Or do I need to apply for Exceptional Talent?

It’s not a hard rule, can you explain to TN why EP is the correct route for you?
Any gaps in your career?

If you cannot make the 5 year mark, you can always go for Exceptional Talent. If you don’t meet the Talent mark but do meet the Promise mark, they won’t reject you - they will just accept you for Promise instead.
