eVisa replacing physical BRP, BRC....?

I am outside the UK preparing my Stage 2 application for submission. UKVI is saying they are replacing BRP and BRC with “eVisas”.

I am assuming I’ll still need to book a biometric appointment after Stage 2 approval, but will the eVisas cut down on the timings at all?

"UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) are developing a digital immigration system. This means we are replacing physical documents with an online record of your immigration status. This is known as an eVisa.

I am also looking for this answer - if I apply for visa extension in August 2024, will I directly get an eVisa or will I get a BRP and one time vignette again?

I went to get my biometrics today at a Premier VFS center. It’s all still Vignettes (the official paper they stick in a blank page in your passport).
