Hi @Jim the criteria is largely the same for both. It depends why the evidence was rejected - eg. If it was rejected for foundational gaps like lack of third party verification then irrespective of the route it will still be rejected.
pahuja has the right framing - it depends on the rejection reason. But there’s a distinction worth drawing out. The Promise bar is lower than the Talent bar: you need to show potential to lead, not established leadership. So evidence that was “not quite there” for Exceptional Talent - a product with modest traction, recognition that’s regional rather than national - might legitimately pass on the Promise route without any changes.
What doesn’t travel: anything rejected for structural reasons. If a letter was dismissed because it came from a direct colleague, because it repeated your CV, or because the evidence was self-generated, the same problem exists on Promise. The route change doesn’t fix those issues.
Before reusing anything, categorise each rejected piece: was it rejected because the bar was too high, or because the evidence was structurally weak? The first category is potentially reusable on Promise. The second needs to be rebuilt.
