Endorsed Global Talent Visa

Firstly, I would like to thank all the members of this group for always responding to queries. My heartfelt thanks to @Akash_Joshi for his guidance and advice, which improved my application (after my first failed attempt). I am happy to connect with Akash soon after to get clarity and to structure my evidence for my re-submission.

I have received an email from the Home Office confirming that my endorsement from theTech Nation under Exceptional Promise has been accepted, and I can now apply for Stage 2.

My timeline:

Application submitted: 30 October

Forwarded to TechNation: 7 November

Decision received: 24th November

I have completed my PhD in geospatial & climate tech from USA in 2014 with 20+ publications (700 + citations). I am working in a Financial sector (R&D climate tech/hazards modeling & AI/geospatial/remote sensing) for last 5 years. Had internal awards from the company for developing new products and commercial impact. Did several volenteering in teaching academia, startups, charities, also a national -level panel speaker for Tech-based discussion. Before joining MNC, i was a PI for external granted projects for 3 years. Overall post PhD, i have 10 years of experiences.

Initially, my application was rejected as I was confused with criteria structure and failed to structure my evidence. I reapplied again under exceptional talent; however, TechNation recommended me for promise.
I am indeed happy for the promise endorsement…and will be moving ahead with stage 2 visa processing.
Just to get a second opinion, can I request the Home Office to reconsider/review or appeal for ‘talent’ as I have more than 5 years of experience?

All the best to all

Hi @Sagarika_Roy

Personally i wouldnt go for it, because in some cases , applicants get endorsed for a criteria, and then when they appeal, they get rejected for the same criteria. so you’ll be risking your endorsement decision to be reviewed and assessed over again with a new assessor who ‘‘might’’ reject any of the cirteria.

Secondly, talent has higher standards for endorsement, it is not only the years of experience that is considered, it is the impact of your work as a Talent, which is more challenging than Promise.

Thats my personal opinion, and maybe my colleagues in the forum have other views.

Woohoo! I’m happy that the perspective shift from “science” to “digital technology” helped with your profile. Excited to see the things you achieve in the UK
