Do i quailify for Exceptional Promise?

Hello everyone,
i have alot of questions but firstly i want to confirm if i qualify for the exceptional promise route to begin with . I am a data and systems analyst in manchester , working for a civil engineering consultancy and my role basically focuses on bettering the companies systems and analysis of data. I read in the guidelines about being from a product led technology company and i wanted to confirm if that is the case ? I have experience as a research assistant from 2021-2023 working in collaboration with UCL. Then i worked as a data engineer on a contract of 9 month with a company in london and now i have this job as a data and systems analyst for the past 10 months . do i qualify for exceptional promise or exceptional talent?

@Hurma_Ehtesham Experienced data scientists/data engineers are technical applicants, with technical skills and they are eligible, even if they are from non-technical organisations. To be able to suggest if you can apply via promise pathway I may need to see your CV or LinkedIn profile.

Also note that because digital technology sector” and “product-led excludes general consultancies, you may find it challenging to rightly meet OC1, with a focus on innovation in a product led company or new digital field or concept, also OC3, with a focus on contribution to a product-led digital technology company. So OC2 and OC4 may end up being your best bet, and that’s okay, because you only need to choose two OCs out of the four.

On your question

For eligibility, it is focused on technological company and not necessarily product led, but for an applicant to rightly meet criteria: OC1 and OC3 - innovations and contributions are in view of a product led company. For context, here is how the guidance answers the eligibility question.

  1. Technical applicants (i.e. programmers) from non-technical organisations are eligible.
  2. Non-technical applicants (i.e. business roles) from technical organisations are eligible.
  3. Non-technical applicants from non-technical organisations are generally not eligible.

All the best.
