Digital Marketing Manager, Exceptional Promise

Hi, I’m a digital marketing manager with 5 years of experience. However, my experience is mixture of different businesses and therefore, I’m a bit doubtful about my application.

Could you please help by checking my final list of documents and suggest any refinements that I can make?

Mandatory: LORs from Senior Industry Leaders

  1. Recommendation Letter from Start-up Founder of AI-driven fashion tech platform (India) where I freelanced in machine learning and image recognition as their AI and Digital Strategy consultant

I can support this letter with screenshots of work and award won by the company while I was working there.

  1. Recommendation Letter from CMO of an e-commerce furniture listing platform (USA) talking about my skills in AI-driven marketing, automation, innovation and measurable results as their Digital Brand Manager
  • I can support this letter with an evidence document - screenshots of performance in scheduling platform
  1. Recommendation letter from Senior Marketing Lead at another e-commerce furniture brand (USA) as their Digital Brand Manager supported with screenshots of measurable results

I can support this letter with an evidence document - screenshots of performance

OPTIONAL CRITERIA 2 - Recognition outside of work

  1. Article on published on Medium about NFT and blockchain awareness + website prototype + screenshots of engagement + Testimonial from a Sunglasses Brand Founder Interested in the Website Prototype

P.s, I had published it on Behance in 2023 but have added it to Medium this year for the application, will it be a problem if I can show it existed on Behance in 2023 as well? Where else should I publish it?

  1. I have another article published on Medium on AR/VR driven influence on virtual shopping which I can also link back to having published on Behance in 2023 - would it count?

OPTIONAL CRITERIA 3 - Significant Contribution to a Digital Tech Company

  1. Performance Report from a jewelry brand (UK) with their own e-commerce website with screenshots showcasing Mailchimp’s AI-driven newsletters created and automated by me
  2. Meta Ads A/B Testing Reports from jewelry brand (UK) showcasing AI-assisted ads, automation, data-driven growth

P.s, I can add a recommendation letter from the jewellery brand but would it be effective as a non-tech company?

  1. Video of speaking at University on Digital Tech

  2. Supporting CV to Show Growth in Digital Tech Over 5 Years

More Supporting Documents:

Can any of these qualify?
a) Recommendation letter from Founder of IT Consultancy and Services firm mentioning measurable results as their Digital Growth Strategist (no screenshots of performance available from 2021)
b) Recommendation letter from Marketing Lead of a VIP-concierge App as their UI/UX designer (no screenshots available to support from 2020)

Please if anyone can provide some suggestions on what is acceptable from this list and how to improve?

Hi @AGforGTV

  • you don’t need screenshots in LORs, you need them in evidence documents towards criteria
  • which two optional criterias are you attempting?
  • medium articles are not valid per guidelines and mentorship needs to be as part of a structured mentorship program with selection of mentees, in-person sessions.
  • cv is not part of the 10 evidences, its separate
  • for innovation, you need to establish what exactly was innovative and your contribution to that innovation. For OC3 you need to show impact of your contributions to quantified metrics.
  • In addition to self-claims and letters, what are third party validation for the evidences?
  • what do you mean by “extras”? You can submit 10 evidences towards criterias and reference letters can be part of these (apart from 3 LORs)

Hi @pahuja thankyou for your response. I have edited the above list for more clarity.

My main question is - what do I do if I have an LOR but can’t show evidence of performance in supporting document due to NDAs or them not existing from long time ago?

Would be really helpful to get a response on this.

Sorry I didn’t understand the question?

Hi, your application needs strategic adjustments. Focus on product-led digital technology companies for recommendation letters - the AI fashion tech startup and Meta Ads work are strongest. Replace e-commerce references with tech-focused evidence if possible.

Medium publications alone won’t meet professional publication standards - consider submitting to platforms like Towards Data Science. The Behance prototypes from 2023 help establish historical validity but need third-party validation through testimonials or implementation evidence.

The jewelry brand evidence faces challenges as non-tech companies rarely qualify for OC3. Reframe this as technical marketing innovation if they have proprietary e-commerce platforms. University speaking engagements require attendance numbers (100+ attendees) and organizer references to demonstrate impact.

Prioritize evidence with measurable outcomes over unsupported recommendation letters. The IT consultancy letter needs performance metrics - consider substituting with open-source marketing tool contributions. Ensure all documents directly align with digital technology sector definitions excluding consultancy/outsourcing roles.
