I am preparing for the UK Global Talent Visa Application. One of the supporting documents is a media report in Chinese. I wonder what ‘Authorized English Translation’ means from Tech Nation guidance. Does it mean ‘certified translation’? Does the translator need to be a UK citizen with an ITI, CIOL, or ATC certificate?
@pahuja Thank you so much, so the translator or the agency need to provide the translation which includes affixing an ITI certification seal, providing a certification letter. Is it correct?
Thanks @pahuja, and one more question does the endorsing organization check the translation to ensure that it was done by a human translator and not by artificial intelligence (AI)?
@rl141 Authorised English translation” just means a certified translation. The translator doesn’t need to be a UK citizen, it just needs to be done by a qualified translator or company who can confirm it’s accurate. Ideally, they’re a member of ITI, CIOL, or ATC, or they provide a signed statement saying the translation is true and correct.
TN expects translations to be professional, accurate, and certified. This usually means they should be done by a qualified human translator. Using a trusted translator or certified service helps make sure your documents are without issues.
If the translation looks bad or like it was generated by AI, it could cause problems. So it’s best to use a trusted human translator who can certify the translation.
It’s from Tech Nation - The use of Artificial Intelligence and/or language processing tools (e.g. ChatGPT) within your application is not acceptable (e.g. the creation of Letters of Reference, Personal Statement, Evidence Documents, etc.). The standard required for Global Talent endorsement requires that your application is created by the applicant. So authrized english translation is a part of it, right?
@rl141 Just as you have rightly quoted, The use of Artificial Intelligence and/or language processing tools (e.g. ChatGPT) within your application is not acceptable, it all inclusive.
Thank you @Raphael, really appreciate your response. I found a certified translator but he said he used 15% AI in the content, I was so worried about it. I think I will find another one to make sure everything is human work. Thank you again!
