I am including my screenshots of my reference letters in my evidence word docs.
would it be fine if I included in-text hyper links to google drive for original letters ? Normally it works with a single click when you click any hyperlink in a pdf. just wanted confirmation if same would be acceptable when we submit word docs on tech nation website and they convert it to one single PDF?
From what I know so far, no links. Submit as PDF
It’s best not to rely on in-text hyperlinks to Google Drive for your reference letters in your evidence document. Here’s why:
-
Upload the three original reference letters as separate PDF files in the designated reference letter section of the application (not inside the evidence doc).
-
In your evidence Word doc, you can include small screenshots of the letters for context, with a note like:
“Full letter uploaded separately in the reference letters section.” -
When Tech Nation converts your Word docs into a single static PDF, the hyperlinks may break or not be clickable.
-
Reviewers are not required to follow external links, and they may skip them altogether for privacy/security reasons.
Three mandatory letters of recommendation will be uploaded separately. That part is understood. I am talking about letters that pertain to evidences. We obviously include screenshots of the letters (not mandatory letters of recommendation) in the evidence documents. I was asking if the letters we include the screenshot of shall be uploaded to google drive and then link dropped in the word doc for the reviewer if he wants to view the original letter too as well as the screenshot (which will be inside the word doc).
I don’t advise adding your supporting reference letter as a screenshot. Generally, that doesn’t seem professional. Attaching it as a screenshot seems as though you are tampering with the original letter (which is what it is). It should count as a page(s) in your 3-page evidence to avoid it being referred to as an external link
Merge PDFs, don’t add screenshots or links.
