Application as exceptional promise

I want to start preparing myself for now for the exceptional promise visa, I’m a full-stack web developer with almost 2 years of experience. I have built 2 solid projects and mini ones and commited to GitHub. But I’ve only done freelance jobs, I’ve not worked for a major tech company, And I have not collaborated on any open source project. And I don’t have any reccommender yet. But I spoke with someone recently who has well recognized tech company. And he’s also willing to recommend me, And I’m also hoping he can introduce me to other professionals in the field. But the thing is that he might not possibly know my work for 12 months, because I’m aiming to travel around August, which means I have to apply 3 months prior to travel. So the question is, is there anyway I can go about the 12 months mandatory recognition or I have to wait a little bit longer.

@Ppryme Trust you are okay.

It’s good to be hopeful and have a target date in mind. However, for an application like this, travelling is not really determined by hope or a planned timeline. The first focus should be on securing the endorsement. Once you receive the endorsement and successfully complete the visa stage, you can then make travel plans with much more certainty.

Regarding recommendation letters, the guidance expects the authors to know you and your work for at least 12 months. Based on what you’ve shared, it may be worth looking for other recognised experts who have known your work for that period of time. Alternatively, you may need to wait until your professional relationship with the recommender reaches that point. Another option is to continue building the relationship while ensuring they have sufficient knowledge of your work and contributions to write a strong and credible recommendation when the time comes.

All the best.
