I want to switch from skilled worker visa to global talent visa. Is my skilled worker visa still valid if I don’t get endorsement at stage-1? Or is the skilled worker visa canceled with the application?
I don’t know ask an immigration lawyer. I think you should apply for endorsement first, when you get endorsed then you can switch. I don’t see the point applying for endorsement and visa at the same time.

If you are only applying for stage-1 then it does not automatically cancels your skilled worker visa.

your right to work will still active(meaning skilled worker visa) won’t be affected
To check your right to work and visa status open below link and enter BRP and DOB you will be able to see your visa status
