Using letter of rec in another section

Hello!

I got 4 letters of recommendation, but can only use 3. I think one of them would be really great to use with within the optional/mandatory criteria. However, the way it is written it says “I strongly recommend Name for the UK Global Talent Visa” and is clearly my letter of rec not specifically written for that section. Is that okay to still use a letter of rec in another section?

Change it to a Reference letter, tell the person who wrote it to adjust the letter. The “I strongly recommend Name for the UK Global Talent Visa” shouldn’t be there. I may be wrong but, you should adjust it to Reference letter.

I personally used the same structure as recommendation letters for my reference letters, but kept them short — one page long.

The new TN guild states that ref letters should follow the same rules as recommendation letters. The difference should be reference letters are tied to particular evidence.

Yes, it’s okay. You can use a recommendation letter as part of your evidential documents if it supports a specific criterion, even if it includes Global Talent Visa language. However, Tech Nation clearly requires only 3 letters to be used for the official recommendation section—others must be presented as supporting evidence and not framed as one of the three mandatory LORs.
Just ensure it’s clearly labeled under the appropriate criterion, not the LOR section.

It should be fine to use letters in either place.

It should be fine to use it as long as the letter demonstrates the evidence you are trying to proof. If it is for mandatory criteria, does it show that you led product or marketing in a digital technology company.nor in OC3 does the letter demonstrate impact? If not then don’t use it, get your recommender to redrafteit
