I successfully received the results of my stage-2 application. However, I have a few questions about the process:
This notice explains that, when you arrive in the UK, you will have permission to be in the UK (known as permission to enter) as GLOBAL TALENT MIGRANT from 01 Nov 2024 until 01 Nov 2028. Your passport/travel document contains a short-term entry clearance visa, which allows you to travel to the UK. This visa is valid for 90 days. If you do not travel to the UK before your 90-day visa expires you will need to apply and pay to transfer your visa. You must collect your BRP before your vignette expires or within 10 days of arriving in the UK, whichever is the later.
Does this mean that I can travel to make the first entry between 1st November until 90 days from that day to collect the BRP card?
Once I enter the UK, can I go directly to the chosen post office to collect the BRP card, even on the next day of landing?
I heard that the BRP card would not be used after December 31 of this year. In that case, do I still need to collect it and convert it to an e-visa, or can I wait until 2025 (without traveling) and use the e-visa for travel directly from next year?
Note: I intend not to relocate to the UK but would take some time and relocate by mid-next year.
Regarding the BRP Expiry, this is an ambiguous communication I received from them
If your BRP expires on 31 December 2024 All BRPs now expire on or before 31 December 2024. You do not need to tell us if your BRP expires on 31 December 2024 and your permission to enter or stay in the UK has been granted for a longer period. UKVI will update their information on the GOV.UK website to tell you what you need to do in early 2024. You do not need to do anything now, and your immigration status will not be affected.
The expiry of the BRP card before the expiry of your permission does not change your entitlement to work, access services or benefits, or travel.
I’m a bit confused about the BRP and would really appreciate your feedback.
I received my visa on August 25th, valid from September 10th. I’m an EU citizen and applied from outside the UK.
The email I received mentioned the following:
You can view and prove your immigration status online, via the ‘view and prove your immigration status’ service – View and prove your immigration status: get a share code - GOV.UK. This online service provides a secure record and proof of your immigration status which is held digitally by the Home Office and which is available to you at all times. This service is made available to you instead of a Biometric Residence Permit.
Additionally, the email didn’t mention any next steps or needing to visit a post office for my BRP.
As I understand it, I don’t need to get a BRP since I submitted my biometrics digitally during the application process using the ‘UK Immigration: ID Check’ app. However, the HR department at the organization I’ll be working with is still requesting a BRP, despite me explaining about the online service.
Could you confirm if I still need to get a BRP, or should the online service be sufficient?
When you cannot get a BRP
You cannot get a BRP if you use the ‘UK Immigration: ID Check’ app to prove your identity when applying to stay in the UK. You’ll need to prove your right to live and work in the UK online instead.
If you apply for a BRP, you will not get one.
I would still appreciate your feedback on the issue.
