2026 Numbers (Based on responses in this forum):

rejection rate will be definitely much higher considering some people got rejected and just disappeared. easier to share success news, so we might be looking at about 15-20% success rate.

This is inline with the overall TN rejection trend of 75+% rejections usually.

@Rachel Hello Bro any news ?

Hi everyone,

I received my feedback this morning at about 7:32 AM — Not Endorsed (from inside the UK, Exceptional Promise – second application).

But I must say, the assessors don’t seem to know what they are doing. I’m not sure if I will apply for a review; if I do, it would be just to speak my mind to the assessors, using very direct but still polite language (since I have nothing to lose anyway).

Also, across all the criteria, they never explicitly stated that I did not meet them, which is usually the format they follow. They were very careful with their wording. At one point, they even said that one of my pieces of evidence is in the field of computing, not digital technology (:joy:). What does that even mean?

I submitted solid evidence. If I was going to be rejected, I expected clear and concrete reasons.

For those of you in your home countries who know you are truly talented in tech and have solid work experience and certifications, instead of spending your energy and time on the Global Talent route, I would advise focusing on building a strong EB1A/EB2 case, or learning French and considering Canada instead.

The main reason I tried to stay in the UK is because I have strong friendships here. I came on a Skilled Worker visa in the technology field, but my role and others were made redundant due to company financial reasons, so I tried to switch to the Global Talent visa. I also didn’t rely solely on my work experience — I gathered extensive evidence, almost as if I had never worked before.

I also have a pending interview/job offer waiting (if my Global Talent visa is approved). I don’t even want to talk about the countless interviews I’ve done where I reached the final or penultimate stage, only for someone else to be selected due to hiring costs.

How can an assessor say that 100 citations on my research papers is insignificant or not good enough? Are they joking? Meanwhile, that’s just a fraction of the evidence I submitted for that criterion.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to share the proforma because of how the assessment was done — there’s a lot of PII. Also, they never explicitly said I didn’t meet any of the criteria; they just rambled about a few pieces of evidence and that was it. It honestly looked like a newcomer carried out the assessment.

Anyway, for those who want to continue on this journey, I wish you all the best!!

I’m sorry about this outcome.

This is unbelievable, but no matter what, please try to appeal, and I believe if the Home Office sees that a large number of applicants are appealing, maybe they might request Tech Nation to publish the criteria they are using to assess the applicants.

I can’t imagine a research profile with 100 citations for Exceptional Promise, and they are saying it’s not impactful enough for OC4. Even someone working in academia as a Lecturer I (they have proven they have a PhD) doesn’t have up to 100 citations across their research work in a space of 3-5 years.

Has anyone who got referred in late Feb gotten any feedback?

No response yet. But 0 hope all late replies are rejections usually

Sorry to hear that . Please try to appeal.

Hi @Rachel apologies about the outcome, it’s very disappointing considering the effort and hope that this application carries.

While I cannot comment without knowing any details, I would highly urge you to appeal if you strongly feel that your original application had evidence inline with the GTV guidelines across criteria. Worse case you will still land where you are but you also might have a turn around or further feedback that will be helpful anyway!

Good luck.

Hello Everyone

I am currently going through the Tech Nation Global Talent Visa application process and have received conflicting guidance from a caseworker that I would like the community’s input on.

My submission structure:

I submitted 8 evidence documents, each containing:

  • A 3-page applicant-prepared narrative with supporting visual evidence (screenshots, photos, media clippings)
  • Letters of reference from industry experts specific to each criterion, with DocuSign certificates

I structured it this way because the Tech Nation guidelines explicitly state that criteria can be evidenced by “reference letter(s) from leading industry expert(s)” — the use of the plural indicating multiple letters are permitted per criterion.

The caseworker’s response:

The caseworker told me my documents exceeded the 3-page limit and asked me to resubmit. When I clarified that the additional pages were letters of reference and DocuSign certificates, they responded with:

“The letters of references are classed as evidence. Only the 3 letters of recommendation which you have already provided are not classed as evidence.”

My concerns:

  1. If letters of reference count as evidence documents, each one must be submitted as a separate document within the 10-document limit. This makes it practically impossible to submit multiple letters of reference per criterion as the guidelines suggest is permitted.

  2. If letters of reference AND the narrative AND screenshots all count toward the 3-page limit per document, it is virtually impossible to fit a meaningful letter of reference (typically 2 pages) plus a DocuSign certificate (1 page) plus a narrative and visual evidence within 3 pages.

  3. The guidelines say letters of reference should be “specific to each chosen criterion” and from “well-established individuals with detailed knowledge of your work over 12 months or more.” If each letter uses one of the 10 evidence slots, applicants with strong evidence across multiple criteria will be severely penalised.

My specific questions:

  • Have other successful applicants included letters of reference within their evidence documents, or submitted them as separate documents within the 10-slot limit?
  • How did you structure your evidence documents to accommodate both narrative evidence and letters of reference within the guidelines?
  • Has anyone successfully challenged a caseworker’s interpretation of the guidelines on this issue?

Any guidance from people who have been through this process would be hugely appreciated. I want to make sure I resubmit correctly without unnecessarily weakening my application by cutting letters that strengthen my criteria.

Thank you.

Please Help @pahuja @Francisca_Chiedu

So sorry about the outcome, it’s really sad.

I agree with what you said about looking elsewhere. I got rejected last November, and I’ve seen quite many rejections in this space since then. It honestly made me question if it’s even worth applying again. Even people with strong profiles didn’t get endorsed, which says a lot.

The mental effort to gather all the evidence again is a lot, it’s genuinely stressful.

Right now, I’m still 50/50. Part of me wants to try again, and part of me is wondering if I should focus elsewhere. I completely get how you feel. Sometimes it almost feels like they’re not taking people anymore.

The goal is not to give up, but at the same time, it can be really exhausting.

For now, I’m still on the fence. Wishing us all the best.

Hi @kay000
I submitted letter of reference in my application as well and I named it as an evidence. it’s quite straightforward. Tech nation requires 10 document maximum excluding the 3 recommendation letters.
Here is a guide to name your attaching documents

MC ecidence1
MC evidence2

OC1 evidence 1
OC1 evidence 2

OC3 evidence 1
OC3 evidence 2

Your evidence must not exceeds 10 including the references you are adding to it. If a reference letter is included within your evidence documents, name it according to the relevant category, for example: MC evidence3 or 0C1 evidence 2

That is what I did but the caseworker is saying that the evidence should not be more than 3 pages.
where do I put the letter of references?
She also mentioned that the Letter of references are also part of the evidence

Yes all evidences should not be more than 3 pages, the reference letter alone will stand on its own without adding it to any other evidence.
If it’s more than 3 pages you can try and reduce the content and make it 3 pages

My narrative evidence Itself if 3 pages and then the letter of references ( extra 4 pages) all equal to 7 pages and this is for my MC Evidence 1

I organized and submitted my evidence as follows: @kay000

MC Evidence 1
MC Evidence 2
MC Evidence 3– This is a reference letter that supports the Mandatory Criteria (MC). It is a standalone document and does not exceed three pages.

OC1 Evidence 1
OC1 Evidence 2
OC1 Evidence 3 ( This is a reference letter supporting Optional Criteria 1 (OC1). It is also a standalone)document.

OC3 Evidence 1
OC3 Evidence 2
OC3 Evidence 3

I submitted 9 evidence document in total
I added 3 recommendation letters and checklist.
