Hello All,
I’m in the process of applying for the Tech Nation UK Global Talent Visa in the Exceptional Talent category as a UI/UX Designer. I’m currently preparing my documentation and evidence for submission and would like your advice on the best way to structure and organize these materials.

Recommendation Letters.

  • Letter from CEO of Previous Company
  • Letter from CTO of an AI Startup i interned with
  • Letter from VP product Previous Company

Mandatory Criteria (MC):

  • Reference Letter from CTO of a Company I worked with showing my contributions and how it impacted business growth
  • Evidence of Open Source Project - Figma Plugin I designed and built with 1K+ Users
  • High Renumeration Proof of High Income as a Designer in Nigeria
  • Evidence demonstrating my leadership in designing two distinct products that generated positive revenue and attracted investments across separate product-led technology companies.

OC2

  • Evidence of Mentorship and teaching design in a structured program, Including clippings of invitation, continuous participation over time, and testimonials from mentees.
  • Volunteering and Media talks: My Contribution to Ogun Digital Summit in 2021 and 2022, a yearly event that has over 2K+ attendees and evidence of me sharing my knowledge and experience in Podcasts and Twitter Spaces.
  • Reference Letter from Convener of Ogun Digital Summit highlighting my contributions and impact in the success of the summit in 2021 and 2022

OC3

  • Significant contribution as Employee at Past company. The supporting documentation consists of various forms of evidence including: screenshots, links to an employment letter, design materials, metric dashboards demonstrating product traction, links to media coverage highlighting product success, and a link to verify funding receipt.
  • Significant contribution as Product at Past company. Same evidences as above
  • Reference Letter from CEO of Past Company

Ensure in MC, your work and reference letters also extend your contribution to the digital tech sector with national/international recognition and not just the company.

Your application shows strong foundations but could be better with some refinement. The open-source Figma plugin demonstrates technical capability, but consider adding user testimonials or growth metrics to better showcase its influence on the design community. You can add screenshots and links to the relevant testimonials and pages.

Your mentorship and summit contributions align well with OC2 - include specific numbers about mentee outcomes (career advancements, projects shipped) and event attendance growth between 2021-2022 to strengthen this section. The podcast/Twitter Space evidence would benefit from listener metrics or notable guest interactions.

For OC3 employment contributions, streamline the evidence by creating a single narrative document that connects design work directly to business outcomes like user acquisition or funding milestones. While the CEO reference is valuable, supplement it with third-party validation through client testimonials or industry recognition of the products you designed.

I recommend prioritizing evidence that shows sustained impact over one-time achievements, and ensure each document explicitly connects to the visa criteria without repetition. Your mix of employment history and community engagement positions you well - focus on demonstrating how these experiences uniquely prepare you to contribute to the UK’s tech ecosystem.
