Stage 1: Error in choosing optional Criteria

Please, I need your help?
I applied for endorsement under exceptional promise.

After submission, I learned that I chose an unintended optional criterion for the assessment of my application.

In the optional criterion section, I chose:

  1. At least 1 example of innovation as a founder of a product-led digital technology company or as an employee working on a new digital field or concept

  2. At least 1 example of proof of recognition for work beyond the applicant’s occupation that contributes to the advancement of the field

But my intent was to choose:

  1. At least 1 example of proof of recognition for work beyond the applicant’s occupation that contributes to the advancement of the field

  2. At least 1 example of significant technical, commercial, or entrepreneurial contributions to the field as a founder or employee of a product-led digital technology company

Although all my evidence where tagged with the intended question being answered written right above before answering, I am afraid this could have an impact on my application as the document submitted only satisfies the intended optional criterion highlighted below and not the one picked.

What help can I get in this situation?

Am I allowed to re-apply(start a new application), even though I have an inconclusive application ongoing, and rectify this error? - hope there is no penalty for this? ( I don’t mind doing this.)

Can my old application be withdrawn?

Should I let it be - as it may not impact the application?

@Francisca_Chiedu @May, cc everyone, thanks!

This is critical. A candidate was recently rejected on a similar ground of using OC3-like evidence in OC1.

What do you mean by unintended? Do you mean that you had mistakenly uploaded the OC3 evidence in the wrong criteria (OC1) or you only realised it was wrong after your application?

If it was the latter, it’ll be difficult to convince them because it clearly shows you didn’t follow the guideline and can’t point it as error in upload since it’s already tagged from what you said.

Remember, Tech Nation decision must be YES for all chosen criteria before you can be awarded.

I mistakenly uploaded the OC3 evidence in the wrong criteria (OC1). (although for the OC3 evidencei uploaded in OC1, I wrote OC3 question above. I did not prepare any evidence that pertains to OC1 from get go . The error happened when I was choosing the intended criteria to be evaluated, here I choose 0C1 instead of OC3.

Since I am not at ease, do you know if I can I send in another application? (hope there is no penalty for this)

I’ll suggest two course of action outside resending a fresh application.

  1. Email them immediately to explain the error.
  2. Wait for an outcome and if rejected only on this basis, point out the error in your review. If rejected for more reasons, you can address all the feedback and resubmit a fresh application.

The reason to try this approach is that in the event you get rejected for reasons other than this error, you can work on all the feedback in addition to correcting this error and resubmit.

Thank you so much.

I will do as you have advised and hope for the best.

Also keep in mind about 31-March as TN may stop receiving new applications at some time

@tcode_it: were you able to get a solution for this mistake? I am in the same situation (I mis-selected the sector) and looking for information on how to proceed. Thanks in advance!

Hello @Amira_Chalbi, I haven’t gotten a response yet on the result of my application.

Even though, it’s been reviewed thrice already. I am hoping to get a result on my application this week.

I did as advised above, I sent a mail, but no response was gotten, also sent a reminder on the error mail, it’s been silence.
