Should I Submit My Application Now or After the Holidays?

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to submit my TechNation application from outside the UK. According to the guidelines, decisions should be made within three weeks, but I’m unsure whether the timing during the holiday season could affect this.

Here are my main concerns:

  1. Is there a risk that applications submitted during the busy holiday period might not be thoroughly reviewed, potentially leading to rejection?
  2. I’ve heard rumors that TechNation might end its program in 2024. If this is true, would it be safer to apply as soon as possible?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has insight or experience with applications submitted around this time of year. Any advice or additional information would be incredibly helpful!

Thanks in advance for your support!

Hi @coco stage 1 application timelines are upto 8 weeks irrespective of where you apply from. Stage 2 timeline is three weeks for outside of the UK applicants.

I had submitted my application from outside UK around 22nd-24th December. I was endorsed in first attempt.

Hi @pahuja,

Thank you so much for clarifying the timelines! I mistakenly thought that Stage 1 decisions were also made within three weeks, so your explanation was really helpful.

Just to confirm, was the application you submitted around December 22nd–24th for Stage 1? If so, I’d love to know when you received your endorsement, as it would give me a better idea of the processing time during that period.

Thanks again for sharing your experience—it’s greatly appreciated!

Best regards,

Yes it was for stage 1.

I received my decision in first week of Jan but my application was fast tracked because of an accelerator admit.

Hi @pahuja,

Thank you for sharing that information! That’s really helpful to know.

Wow, being fast-tracked through an accelerator sounds amazing—so jealous!

Do you think the fast-track process has any influence on the endorsement? (I imagine it might, but would love to hear your thoughts.)

Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions!

Best regards,

Fast track only helps with a faster decision.

My very close friend applied with an offer from an accelerator too with a strong application but was rejected.

You need to meet the criterias and have strong LORs to be able to get endorsed. There’s no other influence.

Hi @pahuja,

Thank you so much for sharing this information—it’s incredibly helpful!

I’m curious to know why your friend’s application was rejected, if you’re comfortable sharing. I want to avoid making similar mistakes in my own application.

  • Were they able to clearly explain their achievements in the application?
  • If their accelerator acceptance was the main piece of evidence for meeting the criteria, it would be reassuring to know if their case was different from mine (especially since you mentioned there are other cases where applicants didn’t succeed despite being accepted into an accelerator).

Thanks again for your insights—I really appreciate your support!

Best regards,

It’s not really possible to share this without seeing your application and without explaining their application in detail which is not really relevant. Everyone’s case and application is unique and you should rather focus on doing the best in your application. There are many examples on the forum to learn from.
