Reference letter from Professor for exceptional promise

Hello,

I am a software engineer with 15 years of experience & few research publications. Now I am preparing my documents for Tech Nation visa (Exceptional Promise).
Need your suggestion on if I get the one of the reference letters from my professor who is Ph.D. in computer sciences and head of the department now in a university, will this be acceptable or have added value to the process.

Yes you can, but Tech Nation guidelines specifically states that persons with over 5 years of experience will qualify for the Talent and not promise route

Yes you can use him as your recommender, however, you need to ensure that they have a strong profile and online visibility.

Also ensure to have other recommenders from the pool of experts in your field, not only in academia.
