Recommendation letter from where I mentored?

Hi all
Will it be advisable to get a recommendation letter from where I mentored?
I mentored in a nonprofit organization that teaches people on how to code… so they focus in tech…

thanks

It is fine, but please make sure that

  • it is a structured program
  • When mentoring alongside other mentors (for example at a top-tier accelerator) you must have been a senior mentor which may be evidenced through a letter of reference from the program
  • you are not paid for your mentorship.

Okay thanks for the response

It depends as well on who is providing the letter and what evidence it’s being used for. You’ve to be very particular about your LORs. Two things to consider is reputation of the person + recognition of their organisation as advancing digital technology.
